This group of poems is divided into five parts, starting with the overture Yan, followed by four chapters: watching the sea, winter in October, a strange land, and returning to life. The whole poem describes the scenery around Heshuo, expresses personal ambition, and embodies the heroic spirit of the poet who is ambitious and all-powerful.
The poem "Different Land" describes the local customs of Heshuo area. The cold climate in Heshuo area, the poverty of Heshuo scholars and the chivalrous man's disregard for the law caused the poet's anxiety, thus feeling the importance of social stability and the Northern Expedition. As a group of Yuefu poems, Out of Xiamen is exquisitely structured.
Yan needs to explain the writing background and melancholy emotional tone. Looking at the sea as a whole expresses the poet's melancholy and complicated mood. In winter and October, I turned my attention to people's livelihood and expressed my satisfaction at seeing the people live and work in peace and contentment after reunification. "Tu Butong" has changed from people's livelihood to scholars, and I feel sorry that I have not been reused.
Gui Si Shou is the poet's effort to resist nothingness after realizing that life is short and his achievements are unfinished. The group poem "Out of Xiamen" fully expresses Cao Cao's mental journey after his northern expedition to Wuhuan, which is touching.
