outline
Yang Pengnian, Er Quan, Dapeng. Life and death are unknown. Yixing Zisha was a famous artist from Qing Qianlong to Jiaqing. Jingxi, a native of Tongxiang, Zhejiang, was a famous pot-making artist at that time, who was good at mixing mud. The teapot made by Jingxi people is crystal clear in color, full of Wen Ya style, simple and exquisite, natural and interesting, with Lin as its treasure.
Yang Pengnian pioneered the process of pinching the mouth without using molds and covering the mouth. Although it is done at will, it is also natural. He is also good at seal cutting and official script, and pursues the taste of stone. He also cooperated with Chen Hongshou (Mansheng), Qu (,), Zhu Jian (), Deng Kui (,), Guo Lin (Xiang Bo, Pinjia) and other celebrities to carve calligraphy and painting, and his skills were mature and perfect. Known in the world as "Pengnian pot", "Pengnian full pot" and "Pengnian stone spoon pot", it is very famous and has a great influence on future generations.
The existing bell jar is in Shanghai Museum.
Personality assessment
Yang Pengnian inherited and developed the technology of making pots by hand. Among many purple sand artists, Chen Mansheng chose Yang Pengnian alone, and he was interested in his craft of making handmade sand pots. He once said, "Yang was the first to make a pot." What is "Gong's Legacy Law"? That's the traditional craft of kneading casserole by hand. Because "during the Qianlong period, pots were mostly made with mold titles, and the method was simple, and the method of hand-kneading by big guests was rarely circulated." Peng nian was good at making casserole, but he began to make it up. Although he made it at will, he has his own natural style. "("Geng Yantian's Note ") That is to say, Yang Pengnian inherited and restored Gong Chun's and Shi Dabin's all-hand pot-making skills, which were exquisite, handy and ingenious. This point can be verified from the production process of Man Sheng Lake handed down from generation to generation. Master Xu Xiutang commented on the full cucumber pot: "The production process is skillful and accurate, and it has a round and smooth feeling. "Gao Zhenyu, a researcher at the Chinese Academy of Art, commented on the Mansheng Cup:" The straight belly is quite chiseled, and the touch is as warm as jade ",all of which reflect the exquisite craftsmanship of Yang Pengnian, the maker of Mansheng Cup.
Yang Pengnian is a model of comprehensive cooperation between purple sand artists and literati. The "Mansheng Pot" co-operated by Yang Pengnian and Chen Mansheng is the crystallization of in-depth communication and all-round cooperation between artists and literati. From the selection of clay materials, the design of pot shape to the carving of pot inscription, and the full participation of Manson and his audience, Peng Nian should be able to accurately understand Manson's design intention, and make a pot sample from a flat pattern, and there are dozens of innovative styles, which shows that Peng Nian is very savvy. We can also imagine that Peng Nian will definitely put forward some suggestions to improve it during the production process, so the innovative shape of the full-cooked pot is also attributed to Peng Nian. It should also be pointed out that we have not only cooperated with Chen Mansheng, but also cooperated with scholars such as Joe and Cai Xigong. Most of these literati are proficient in calligraphy and painting, appreciation, making pots for them, and being recognized also shows that Peng Nian is not a leisurely generation. Especially his cooperation with Zhu Jian. Zhu's "Appreciator, Ingenuity, Sand Tire and Tin Spoon" was his first creation (Biography of Moline). After Peng Nian cooperated with him, he could also order a jade pot himself. Among the purple sand wares collected in the Forbidden City, there is one: a tin pot inlaid with jade in Yang Pengnian, Yixing Kiln. The bottom of the pot is engraved with the seals of "Made in Yang Pengnian" and "Made in Pengnian", but the seal of "James Zhu" is missing. Is it made in Yang Pengnian?
Yang Pengnian has a certain knowledge of literature and history, calligraphy and painting skills, and is an artist with literati temperament. In the long-term cooperation and communication with literati, Yang Pengnian "approached Zhu Zhechi" and his own cultural literacy was improved accordingly. It is said that besides making pots, he is also good at pottery carving. "Carving bamboo and tin is also good." ("Geng Yin Tian Note"). Yang Pengnian has a certain knowledge of literature and history, which can be proved by the following two works. First, he once imitated the ancient cultural relic of Yixing, the National Mountain Monument, made a purple sand bottle, and carved pottery on the bottle by imitating the ancient characters on the monument (picture, now in Nanjing Museum). Without a certain knowledge of literature and history, how could he have such creative inspiration? Second, there is a "four-corner square disk" in the purple sand collection of the Forbidden City. The center of this square plate is engraved with a cross pattern, and the quadrilateral is in the shape of a Heluo figure. The center of the plate is divided into the left side and the right side, engraved with the inscription cloud of the whole line: "The ancient Yellow Emperor dreamed of two dragon-given pictures, which were found by Heluo and got the dragon-horse pictures, so he ordered Cang Xie to create characters in his spare time to learn Zhu Zhi's skills. I am deeply convinced that I put Heluo's plate in the right place, so that I can never forget my ambition. Later, I signed Yang Pengnian Daoguang Jiawu Yijiu Jiazi's book, Yang Xianyou's Shishan Room. From this plate and its inscription, we can get a glimpse of Peng Nian's creative thoughts and prove that he is an artist with profound knowledge of literature and history and literati temperament.
In the middle of Qing Dynasty, Yang Pengnian resumed Shi Dabin's manual pot-making method, and cooperated with a large number of literati such as Man Sheng to make a batch of literati pots with novel shapes and engraved pot names. He is good at carving and versatile. Together with scholars such as Chen Mansheng, he has made certain contributions to the revival and development of Zisha.
