1. About the origin of Siyuan Bridge in Guihu Park, Xindu District
Siyuan Bridge was built in 1986. It is 3 meters wide, 28 meters long, and has 5 arches. It is also called " Five-hole Bridge". The bridge is not long but has five arches. It is probably not only for stability, but also means "welcoming friends from all over the world", right? Chengdu people are so hospitable!
The deck of Siyuan Bridge is paved with bluestone slabs, and there are 14 pillars on the left and right bridge railings. The capitals of the pillars at both ends of each side are carved with a golden carp with a small round mouth pouting, a bent body, and jumping out of the water. I think this symbolizes the prosperity of the country, the prosperity of the people, and "more than every year." The capitals of the 12 pillars in the middle of each side are exquisitely carved twelve zodiac signs: dragon, circling and rising; pig: naive and naive; horse, soaring on all four hooves... This may be a symbol of the descendants of the Chinese nation. The bridge railings on both sides are fully enclosed with 15 bluestone baffles, and lifelike carving patterns on the baffles are displayed before my eyes. It is a picture of "Chang'e in the Moon Palace": amidst the fairy music, Chang'e is dancing in front of the laurel tree in the Moon Palace, and the Jade Rabbit can't help but dance along with it; this is a picture of "Shepherd Boy Playing the Flute": in the beautiful mountains and clear waters In the mountain stream, a shepherd boy rides on the back of an ox and plays a short flute leisurely. The sound of the flute is melodious and pleasant to the ear; below is a picture of "dragon and phoenix presenting auspiciousness": amidst the churning of auspicious clouds, the golden dragon on the right opens its mouth and spins, looking back. Looking at the phoenix, the colorful phoenix on the left spreads its wings and raises its tail, raising its eyes to look at the dragon... The whole pattern is integrated, highlighting the stability and peaceful atmosphere of society.
Siyuan Bridge is located south of the center of Xingui Lake Park and runs east-west. It is one of the links connecting the scenic spots in the east and west. It connects to Gui Di in the east, and the sign says: This embankment is planted with osmanthus trees, facing the water and shining in the moon. Whenever the moon is full, the two shadows overlap, like a vast and cold scenery; in the west, it connects to Wang Mingzhang's Tomb, and the circular mountain fortress is shaded by trees. The land is lush with flowers and grass. If there were no Siyuan Bridge, although the two scenic spots are close at hand, to reach each other, we would have to go around in a big circle.
Siyuan Bridge not only serves as a link, but is also one of the 20 scenic spots in Xingui Lake Park. 2. Landscapes of Xindu and Guihu Lake in Chengdu
Xindu is about 30 kilometers away from Chengdu. It used to be called Xindu County but is now called Xindu District.
There are two major attractions worth seeing in Xindu, one is Baoguang Temple and the other is Guihu Park.
Baoguang Temple is located in the new urban area and is the largest Buddhist temple in my country. The Chinese Buddhist College is located in this temple. The biggest feature of this temple is that all buildings use stone pillars instead of wooden pillars, and there is an Arhat Hall with five hundred Arhats. Among the places I have visited, only Baoguang Temple, Xiyuan Temple in Suzhou and Shifang Zen Temple in Shaolin Temple have 500 Arhats, and only Baoguang Temple has the largest scale and the best production.
Guihu Park is also located in the urban area. It is said that it was the private garden of Guo Moruo's family and was later donated to the government for use as a park. The landscape, towers, bridges, flowing water, and winding paths in the park are so beautiful that it is a good place for tourism and leisure. 3. Ancient ruins in Guihu Park
Thousands of years have passed since the past, and the relics are difficult to remember. On the Yinma River in Guihu Forest Square, there is actually the remains of an ancient weir dating back 500 years. This weir is a farmland water conservancy project built with donations from Yang Tinghe, the father of Yang Sheng'an, the first academic scholar of the Ming Dynasty. Year after year, it diverts water to irrigate the fields, benefiting the country, and the people in the countryside do not forget its virtues, so this weir is known as Bachelor's Weir. The South Gate Bridge of Xindu City, a few hundred meters downstream of Xueshiyan, is the Qingyuan Bridge donated and built by Yang Sheng'an's grandfather, Yang Chun, to facilitate communication between urban and rural areas. It will be moved to the Guihu Forest Plaza as a new attraction on the Yinma River.
