The ground is covered with wormwood and reed buds are short, which is when the puffer fish is about to come. Translation: Two or three peach blossoms are blooming outside the bamboo forest. Ducks are playing in the water. They are the first to notice the warming of the river in early spring. The river beach is already covered with wormwood, asparagus has begun to sprout, and the pufferfish are about to swim upstream from the sea to the river.
2. "Inscribed on the Zen Temple behind Poshan Temple" - Chang Jian of the Tang Dynasty. Original text: Entering the ancient temple early in the morning, the first sunlight shines on the high forest. The bamboo path leads to a secluded place, and the Zen room is surrounded by flowers and trees. The light of the mountain is pleasing to the birds, and the shadow of the pond is empty of the human heart. Everything is silent here, except for the sound of bells and chimes. Translation: I walked into this ancient temple early in the morning, and the rising sun reflected the woods on the mountain. Bamboo groves cover the paths leading to the depths, and the flowers and trees in front and behind the Zen room are luxuriant and colorful. The bright mountain light makes the birds more happy, and the clear water in the pond also refreshes the mind and purifies the mind. At this moment, everything was silent except for the sound of bells and chimes.
3. "Miscellaneous Poems in the Mountains" Southern Dynasties - Wu Jun. Original text: I see smoke coming from the mountains, and I glimpse the setting sun in the bamboos. Birds fly to the eaves and clouds come out of the window. Translation: The place where the mountain meets the sky is filled with clouds and smoke, and the sunset is shining through the gaps in the bamboo forest. Birds flew happily to the eaves, and white clouds floated gently from the window.
4. "Hsinchu" Qing Dynasty - Zheng Banqiao. Original text: New bamboo branches are higher than old bamboo branches, all because of the support of old branches. Next year there will be another new born, the ten-foot-long dragon and grandson will come around Fengchi. Translation: Newly grown bamboos are taller than old bamboos, and their growth is entirely supported by the old branches. There will be new growth next year and it will grow taller.
5. "Yan Zheng's Mansion and Chanting Bamboo" by Du Fu of the Tang Dynasty. Original text: The green bamboo is half in its casing, and the new shoots are just emerging from the wall. The color invades the book and it's late, and the wine bottle is cool in the shade. The rain washes the flowers clean, and the wind blows the fragrance. But if there is no cutting, the clouds will grow. Translation: Half of the tender green new bamboo is still covered with bamboo shoot shells, and the newly grown bamboo shoots are only higher than the top of the wall. The bright green color reflects on the book cover and lingers for a long time; when the bamboo shadow moves past, the wine suddenly becomes cooler. After the new rain, the bamboo becomes more beautiful and cleaner; when the breeze blows, you can smell the faint fragrance. As long as it is not destroyed, Hsinchu will surely grow to towering heights in the sky.
