Who can tell us the origin of Mazupo?

There is a difference between Mazu God and Mazu Po. Mazu God is the goddess worshipped by Han compatriots, while Mazu Po is the goddess in the fairy tales of Gaoshan compatriots.

Mazu was created in memory of Maureen Niang. Lin Moniang is the daughter of Lin Yuan, "Lin Renshan" in Luohong Township, Meizhou Island, Putian County, Fujian Province. She was born in 960 AD (the first year of Stegosaurus in Song Taizu) and ranked seventh on March 23rd of the lunar calendar. She has a brother and five sisters. She was born on a full moon but never cried, so she was named Mo Niang. Mo Niang grew up by the sea and soon learned to swim. When I was a teenager, I often went to sea with my father and brother. Once in a big typhoon at sea, the boat capsized, and Mo Niang risked her life to save her father and find her brother's body. The experience of a weak woman naturally attracted everyone's attention. Later, Mo Niang often helped fishermen who were killed at sea, especially in their hometown, and did many good things for fishermen. But when Maureen was 28 years old, she became seriously ill and died. In order to commemorate this kind girl, people specially built a temple on Meizhou Island, named "Tong Xian Ling Nv Temple", which was later named Shunji God. With the development of Penghu by coastal people, fishermen also built temples in Penghu to worship Lin Mo Niang, calling her "Tian Fei" or "Shengfei" or "Mazu".

After Zheng Chenggong recovered Taiwan Province Province, Mazu was sent to the island of Taiwan Province Province and built temples to worship in various parts of Taiwan Province Province. People respected him as the "Virgin". 1683, Shi Lang, the general of Jinghai sent by the Qing court, led the army eastward and seized the political power of Zheng Group in Taiwan Province Province. When the army first arrived in Penghu, most of them were stationed in the Tianhou Palace in Penghu. It's summer, and it hasn't rained for many days. There is little drinking water, so it is difficult for the army to move. Shi Lang is very worried about this. One morning, people found that water suddenly appeared in the well of Tianhou Palace, and it was inexhaustible. People say this is the result of Mazu's appearance Shi Lang used Penghu as a springboard to recover Taiwan Province Province. In order to appreciate the help of Mazu, Shi Lang asked the emperor to add Mazu as "Tianhou" and named it "Tianhou protects the country and the people, and her manifestation is respected by Hong Ren", which was included in the Spring and Autumn Sacrifice Code. The Qing court also gave Mazu Tempel the memorial tablets of Meizhou Island, Tainan and Xiamen in Putian, and the memorial tablets of An Lan in Xifu, and ratified his father as Qing Ji Gong and his mother as Mrs. Qing Ji. Since then, people's sacrifices to Mazu have become more grand. Mazu is a common name. Meizhou people are affectionately called "Aunt" or "Grandma Mazu", while Taiwan Province Province is called "The Virgin of Heaven".

Mazupo, or Mazupo, is a legendary goddess among Gaoshan compatriots, which comes from folklore.

It is said that there is a Huang Jinshu at the entrance of the Jade Palace. It took the tree three thousand years to blossom. Three thousand years later, these three bright flowers became three beautiful sisters. That is, the jade emperor's three daughters, the elder sister is the later queen mother, the second sister is the later Mazu grandmother, and the third sister is the later Guanyin. One day, they looked down through the clouds and saw the charming scenery on the earth, and they were homesick. They want to do something good for the world. So, the three secretly left the Heavenly Palace. My elder sister chose Yaochi on Kunlun Mountain, my second sister took a fancy to Yushan on Taiwan Province Island, and my third sister chose Wuzhishan on Hainan Island.

Second sister came to Taiwan Province Province and saw the mountain is high and the road is dangerous. Without horses, transportation is very difficult. She heard that the elder sister made horses with yellow mud and nectar in Yaochi, so she went to Yaochi and asked her for a bag of small mud horses. On my way back to Taiwan Province, I left a small mud horse on an unknown island off the coast of Fujian, and later it became a big horse. In order to appreciate the kindness of the second sister, people call this island Mazu Island. The second sister threw the little mud horse she brought back into the mountains of Taiwan Province Island, and it became a big horse. People on the island built temples in various places to worship their second sister and named them Ma (Ma) ancestral temple.
