Wang Wei
People are idle, osmanthus flowers fall, and the night is quiet and empty.
When the moon comes out, the birds are startled, and the sound enters the spring stream.

2. Creative background
Wang Wei's "Bird Sound Stream" is based on the stable and unified prosperous Tang society when Kaiyuan (713-741) traveled to the south of the Yangtze River. This poem is the first of a series of poems entitled Five Topics of Huangfuyue Yunxi written by Wang Wei's good friend Huangfuyue, who lives in Yunxi Mountain Villa. It is the work of a poet who lives in Wuxi (Ruoshuixi) in the southeast of Shaoxing County.
According to "Biography of Wang Wei in the New Tang Dynasty", Wang Wei was a scholar at the beginning of Kaiyuan, and was later named Tai Lecheng. He was demoted to join the army in the same warehouse in Jeju because he was a performer who jumped the yellow lion. It was not until Zhang Jiuling came to power in the 23rd year of Kaiyuan (735) that he returned to Beijing as the right prime minister. Regarding Wang Wei's resume, Zhu Yuebing, a Shaoxing cultural researcher, said in the "Examination of Wang Wei's Deeds in Vietnam": "Wang Wei roamed Wu Yue for nearly fifteen years from the eighth year of Tang Kaiyuan to the twenty-first year of Kaiyuan. ..... There is every reason to say that his masterpieces such as Song of Birds, Autumn Night in a Mountain and Acacia were all written in Vietnam. " Wang Wei wandered around Ruoye, feeling the scene in front of him, and thinking of the famous sentences of predecessors describing Ruoye River. He wants to compete with the ancients to win the blue, and he wins the blue, so he has a wonderful poem "When the moon rises, the bird is surprised, and when spring comes, it is in the stream". From the analysis of the style and artistic conception embodied in the poem Bird Sound Stream, this poem should be written in the period of "Kaiyuan Prosperity" of Xuanzong of Tang Dynasty, and it is the work of Wang Wei in his youth.
3. Appreciation of works
Wang Wei likes to create a peaceful artistic conception in his landscape poems, and so does this poem. But the poem is about flowers falling, the moon rising and birds singing. These moving scenery not only make the poem look full of vitality, but also show the tranquility of the spring through movement. On the contrary, dynamic scene can achieve static effect, because the two sides of contradiction are always interdependent. Under certain conditions, movement can occur or be noticed, which is based on silence. "Tonamiyama is more secluded" contains artistic dialectics.
