What are the causes of the food crisis in Ukraine?

Affected by the escalation of the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, extreme climate and the COVID-19 epidemic, the global food security governance burden is increasing day by day, which hinders the sound development of the global food system. Most countries are facing the survival dilemma of food shortage. On the other hand, from the perspective of grain purchase, the global purchasing power of grain is declining. Under the continuous impact of the COVID-19 epidemic, the world economy is developing slowly. In 2020, the annual growth rate of global GDP dropped to -3.3%, but it only reached 5.8% in 20021year. Without the economic foundation as a guarantee, the country lacks the ability to buy food. In the context of the global economic downturn, the global food price rise triggered by the Ukrainian crisis will undoubtedly increase the burden of grain purchase for grain importing countries.
