In China, Wuhan, Jilin, Wuhu and Luzhou are all called Jiangcheng, and only Wuhan can be recognized as "Jiangcheng". The origin of Wuhan Jiangcheng has a long history.
Wuhan is divided into three parts by the Yangtze River and the Han River, forming a pattern of Wuchang, Hankou and Hanyang crossing the river. The Wuhan section of the Yangtze River has a wide water surface and the two rivers meet clearly, which is spectacular, which is also an important reason why Wuhan is called Jiangcheng.
Li Bai, a poet in the Tang Dynasty, was very excited when he was drinking with Shi Langzhong on the Yellow Crane Tower when he was visiting Wuhan, so he wrote a famous sentence, "The Jade Emperor blows the Yellow Crane Tower, and plum blossoms fall into the river in May". Since then, Jiangcheng and Wuhan have forged an indissoluble bond.
The Yellow Crane Tower by Wuchang River is one of the three famous buildings in China. For thousands of years, many emperors, generals and literati have pointed out the mountains and rivers here, leaving behind magnificent poems such as "the tortoise and snake lock the river" and "a bridge flies north and south, and the moat becomes a thoroughfare", so Wuhan is well-deserved to be called the Jiangcheng.
