Seven poems of Langtaosha

The seventh sentence of Langtaosha is as follows:

Original text:

In August, the waves roared, and the head was several feet high, touching the back of the mountain.

In a blink of an eye, I arrived at Haimen, and the rolled sand was like a snowdrift.

Translation:

In August, the sound of the waves is like Ma Benteng's roar. Several feet high waves rushed to the rocks on the shore and were beaten back. In a short time, it retreated to the intersection of the river and the sea and returned to the sea. The sand it rolls up is like a pile of snow in the sun.

Appreciate:

The first sentence of this poem, "Surging on the shore in August", describes the trend of the tide, from far to near, and uses a verb "roar" to highlight the feeling of the approaching waves. The second sentence is about the spectacular scene when the tide reaches its peak. Fierce and turbulent tidal heads, with bodies dozens of feet high, hit the cliffs on both sides. In a word or two, the whole process of the ebb and flow of the tide is described by the contrast between "roaring to the ground" and "touching the mountain"

The sharp change of tone highlights the surging tide. The third sentence follows the second sentence with "an instant", from the dynamic description at the beginning to the static description after the ebb tide. On the surface, it is no longer the tide, but it is actually closely related to the sentence "roaring to the ground", leaving another spectacle after the tide has gone away, setting off the spectacular scene of the tide roaring to the ground and hitting the mountain in August.

Liu Yuxi's literary achievements;

1, poetry

Liu Yuxi's landscape poems have changed the narrow-minded and desolate style of Dali and Zhenyuan poets, but they often write a half-empty and half-solid open scene of beyond space's real distance, such as "the underwater mountains are like snow, and the grass on the bridge is like smoke". Liu Yuxi's poetry is clear because of its implicit and deep connotation, open and generous realm and lofty and upward emotion.

Liu Yuxi's epic is highly respected. These poems, with concise words and carefully selected images, express his meditation after reading all the vicissitudes of life and contain deep feelings. For example, the Spring Festival Evening in Yuezhou is a long sentence, and Old Stories from the West Fort, Wuyi Lane, Stone Town and Temple of the King of Shu are all famous articles.

2. About the text

Liu Yuxi's article is the greatest achievement of argument. One is a monograph, which covers philosophy, politics, medicine, calligraphy, calligraphy and other aspects. Philosophical papers such as "The Theory of Heaven" discussed the materiality of heaven, and analyzed the social roots of "The Theory of Destiny" on the scientific level at that time, which had a certain position in the history of materialism development.
