Su Dongpo's Lychee Poetry

Su Shi's poem about litchi is eating litchi.

The whole poem is: when spring comes to Luofu Mountain at four o'clock, oranges and bayberries are new. 300 lychees a day, I will grow up to be a Lingnan person without hesitation.

The next four seasons in Luofu Mountain are spring, and loquat and bayberry are fresh every day. If I eat 300 lychees every day, I would like to be a Lingnan person forever.

Writing background: Su Shi was demoted to Huizhou, but he accepted it calmly. He loves litchi and southern landscape, so he is willing to "grow up to be a Lingnan person." There are many poems about Li in the past dynasties, but this poem has the widest spread and the greatest influence. Su Dongpo was accused of "belittling the court" and was demoted to Lingnan in the first year of Song Zhezong's Shaosheng, and was "forbidden to sign books for business". Therefore, Mr. Dongpo lingers in the mountains and rivers, observes the mountains and rivers, and has a deep love for Lingnan. Even litchi, which is very common in Lingnan, is so persistent that this poem was written.
