Creative background:
From 1908 to 19 19, India's national liberation movement fell into a low tide. Tagore withdrew from the national autonomy movement because of disagreement with the leaders of the Congress Party, which was mainly reflected in rural issues, religious sources and ways of struggle, and returned to his hometown of Santa Nikita in 1907 to engage in ethnic education and literary creation. During this period, he published a series of poems, novels, plays, songs, letters and essays. Among them, his philosophical poems can be said to represent the ideological characteristics of the poet at this stage: that is, the task of social transformation is realized through religion, philosophy and ethics, and love is the social ideal of human beings.
Crescent Moon Collection is a product of promoting human love. The poems in A Crescent Moon mainly come from Children's Collection published by Tagore 1903, and some English poems.
