In 1093, Su Dongpo served as an official in Dingzhou for 8 months. When he took office, he rectified military discipline and built an arrow guide club to boost morale; he was diligent in investigating the sentiments of the people, and "rice moved from the south to the north", and paddy fields were opened in the wilderness beaches; he heard the farmers singing rice transplanting, and he recorded the lyrics and music. After sorting it out, it was named "Dingzhou Yangge", which is the local Hebei opera "Dingzhou Yangge" in later generations; farmers were encouraged to improve the soil, manage wastelands, and plant trees extensively; the "Xuelangzhai" was built, which became a scene for later generations; it affirmed Dingzhou Kiln porcelain.
