Where is Du Fu Caotang in Chengxian County?

Longnan Dufu Caotang

Du Fu, a great poet, stayed in Tonggu for more than a month after Qin Dynasty to avoid the Anshi Rebellion, wrote poems such as Phoenix Terrace and Seven Poems in Tonggu, and then went to Shu via Jialing River. In the Northern Song Dynasty, Zhao, a local scholar, donated land and Guo, a county magistrate, established an ancestral temple. In recent years, Cheng County has been built and expanded on a large scale, which is a must for people to miss poets and appreciate natural scenery.

In October of the second year of Gan Yuan, Tang Suzong (AD 759), Du Fu left Qin Zhou (now water) and arrived in Gu Si (now Longfei Gorge in Chengxian County). On the west bank of the canyon, he chose a boulder with its back against the green hills, facing the peak of the canyon and avoiding the sunny hillside, and built a simple shelter thatched cottage. As a result, Du Fu Caotang became a poet's footprint in Longnan, Gansu. The poet left many beautiful poems here, and thus entered southern Sichuan. In order to commemorate Du Fu, later generations set up a shrine and a hall on the site where they lived. There is also a record in the "New Records of Chengxian County": "Zimei Caotang is beautiful and lovely at the mouth of Longfei Gorge, with water rings in the mountains and fog falling in summer. In the Tang Dynasty, Zimei took refuge here and worked as a grass pavilion, including Seven Poems in the Same Valley and Poems on the Phoenix Terrace. Later generations felt its high wind, that is, its address was enshrined in the temple. "

Later, after several constructions and repairs in Song, Ming, Qing and Republic of China, the thatched cottage gradually became beautiful and took shape. At present, there are still more than ten stone tablets inscribed by Song Guangzong Shao Xi in Wenzhen in the fourth year, two stone tablets erected in the ninth year (Gengyin) and the nineteenth year (Gengzi) of Sejong Jiajing in the Ming Dynasty, and the stone tablet for rebuilding Du Shaoling Temple erected in the forty-seventh year of Wanli in Ming Shenzong.

The earliest memorial temple of Du Fu Caotang in Chengxian County is called "Zimei Caotang Temple", also known as "Poetry Temple". This is an ideal place with magnificent buildings, many stone tablets and green trees.
