In A Dream of Red Mansions, "Sunny is the shadow of Lin Daiyu", and the ending of Qingwen implies the ending of Lin Daiyu. After Qingwen's death, he was named "Lotus Flower God" by Baoyu. The seventy-eighth time Baoyu wrote "Daughter of Furong" as a memorial to Qingwen, which was Cao Xueqin's metaphor for Lin Daiyu's life.
When Jia Baoyu changed the last sentence of "The Daughter of Lotus" to "Under the screen window, I missed it; In Huangtuling, the dark wins. "Hearing this, Lin Daiyu suddenly changed her color. She sensed something, and Daiyu was compared to a hibiscus flower. The hibiscus here is not lotus, but hibiscus mutabilis.
Gao Chan, a poet in the late Tang Dynasty, also said that "Furong was born in the Qiujiang River and didn't complain", which coincides with "don't complain about the east wind", indicating that Daiyu's fate is doomed and no one can change it. Because Furong bloom is in the late autumn, Su Shi said that "there are thousands of forests to eliminate pornography, and only Furong has its own fragrance", which is also in line with Daiyu's situation that "the wind reveals sorrow" and "the wind and the sword are hard to crush".
Hibiscus mutabilis, also known as hibiscus flower, frost-resistant flower, Manglietia, ground hibiscus and Hua Mu, is not cold-resistant, drought-resistant, water-resistant and moisture-resistant, which also conforms to Daiyu's character.
The flower language of hibiscus is slender and beautiful, chaste and pure. Mapping on Lin Daiyu means keeping love until she shed tears and gave her life.
Another flower language of hibiscus is precocity. In A Dream of Red Mansions, Lin Daiyu entered Guo Rongfu at the age of six, and wrote the twenty-third story that Lin Daiyu and Baoyu read the West Chamber, but by today's standards, she was still a teenage girl. But when she read The West Chamber, she felt that "the words were amazing and the fragrance was overflowing". This plot reflects the awakening of young Dai Yu, a precocious girl, and a hazy love has sprouted between her and Baoyu.
