Wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha pays attention. This Chinese word comes from the Taoist Zen master of Jigong, Li Xiuyuan (Jigong Living Buddha). "Wine and meat pass through the intestines, and the Buddha pays attention." Never take this sentence as an excuse to kill and eat meat to satisfy your appetite. The reason why it is said that "wine and meat pass through the intestines, but Buddha pays attention to it" is a tragic allusion. It is said that when Zhang attacked Chongqing (now Chongqing) in the Ming Dynasty, he was stationed in a temple outside the city and forced the monks inside to eat meat. At that time, a monk named Broken Mountain said that I would eat meat as long as I didn't kill the city after the siege. As a result, Zhang promised him. So the monk broke the mountain and said this while eating. He broke the precepts of thousands of people's lives. A man of practice who drinks and sprinkles meat and fast is bound to fall into animal ways and hungry ghosts and suffer endlessly, while the abbot who fastes to save people is not afraid of falling into evil ways and suffering endlessly. Buddha said, "If I don't go to hell, who will?" The abbot's true compassion for eating meat is the bodhisattva spirit of Mahayana Buddhism.
