Shangyangfang in the Warring States Period was promoted to bronze ware in the middle of the Warring States Period, with a height of 2.32 cm, a total length of 18.7 cm and a volume of 202.8+05 ml. Now it is collected in Shanghai Museum.
The 1 copper-lifting device supervised by Shang Yang of Qin State during the Warring States Period. Inscriptions are engraved on three sides and the bottom of the wall. Carved on the left wall: "Eighteen years, Qi? (Rate) Dr. Qing came to work as a martingale in winter and December, and the product was sixteen (inches) and five minutes (inches). " The end opposite to the handle is engraved with the word "Chong Quan". The bottom is engraved with the imperial edict of the 26th year of Qin Shihuang (22 BC1year), and the right wall has the word "pro". Hanshu said: the volume is "measured by the degree", and the vessel rises from 16 and 1/5 cubic inch, which further proves that as early as 300 or 400 BC, people realized that the volume is not the basic unit, and it is accurate and convenient to calculate the volume from the length. The measured length 12.4774 cm, width 6.972 cm, depth 2.323 cm, and calculated volume 202. 15 cm3. Since the inscription 16.2 has a cubic inch of one liter, it can be inferred that Qin Wei is one foot long and 23.2 centimeters. The 18th year in the inscription is the 18th year of Qin Xiaogong (344 BC). This musical instrument has a clear date, indicating that Shang Yang of Qin State is responsible for the supervision. The bottom is engraved with the imperial edict of Qin Shihuang for twenty-six years, indicating that the weights and measures after Qin Shihuang unified the whole country expanded the standards formulated during Shang Yang's political reform. Shang Yang Fang Sheng is an extremely important treasure in the history of Chinese weights and measures.
