1. Creative background
a suggestion to my friend liu was written by Bai Juyi in his later years when he lived in seclusion in Luoyang, "It was snowing in the evening and he missed his old friends". Liu Shijiu was a friend of the author when he was in Jiangzhou, and the author wrote another poem "Liu Shijiu Sleeping Together", saying that he was Chu Shi of Songyang. Some people think that this poem was written in the twelfth year of Yuanhe (817), but the poet was Sima in Jiangzhou (now Jiujiang, Jiangxi) and it was impossible to invite Luoyang to have a drink with his old friends.
