Poems written by Li Bai to Yang Guifei

There are three poems written by Yang Guifei by Li Bai, namely "Three Qingping Tunes".

Original poem:

Beautiful people who see the bright clouds, think of their clothes and see flowers come to see them.

If Yushan didn't see her, it would be Yaochi meeting under the moon.

Translation:

Clouds want to be the clothes of the imperial concubine, and flowers want to be the appearance and beauty of the imperial concubine, such as peony exposed in the spring breeze beside the agarwood pavilion. If it is not a fluttering fairy that can only be seen on Yuxian Mountain, it must be a fairy that can only be met under the moon in Yaotai.

Original poem:

A stick of incense and a stick of incense are heartbroken in vain.

Excuse me, who looks like Han Palace? The poor swallow relies on new cosmetics.

Translation:

Beauty is like a red peony with fragrant dew. Compared with Wushan Goddess, it can only be a waste of liver and intestines. Excuse me, who can compare with her in Han Palace? YiWen Zhao Yan Fei can only compare with her because of her new makeup.

Original poem:

Famous flowers fall in love and laugh like kings.

Explain that the spring breeze is infinitely hateful, and the agarwood pavilion is northward.

Translation:

The famous flowers and the stunning beauty set each other off and made the king look at them with a smile. When the agarwood pavilion leans against the railing in the north, the king's infinite spring worries are swept away with the spring breeze.

Background information:

The first song was written by Yang Guifei, gorgeous and moving. The first two sentences say that when Tang saw the clouds, he thought of Yang Guifei's beautiful clothes. When I see flowers, I think of Yang Guifei's charming face. Floating white clouds are danced by the wind. Even if there are no clouds, you can imagine the posture of the wind. Because of the dew, the flowers are more beautiful. Even if there are no flowers in front of you, you can imagine the beauty of flowers with dew. The beauty of the imperial concubine is not imaginary. She doesn't belong in this world. If it is not the first sight of Yushan, it will only meet Yao and Taiwan under the moon.

The second song is about Yang Guifei, who is favored by her beauty. A colorful flower, dew condensation, sweet eruption; Today, the imperial concubine is also an extraordinary product, and her flower-like appearance makes Ming Di deeply attached, such as dew condensation, the stronger the fragrance of flowers. The favor of the imperial concubine was rare in the previous generation. Although Wushan Goddess recommended herself to Wang Xiang, after all, she can only accompany her in her dreams, so if the imperial concubine serves the king day and night.

On the shortage of Wushan Goddess, the beauty of the previous generation was barely comparable to that of the imperial concubine only when Zhao put on new makeup in the Han Dynasty. However, Zhao relies on makeup to make up for her congenital deficiency, which is far less than the natural beauty of the imperial concubine.

The third song was written by flowers and people. Famous flowers have the world, but they can't be enjoyed by beauty, but they are white flowers; Beautiful women are not allowed to enjoy famous flowers in Chenxiang Temple, which wastes their beauty. Today, beautiful women and famous flowers set each other off, won the love of the romantic son of heaven, lived up to expectations, and enjoyed no regrets. Only the peony flower, the concubine of the country, can show Xuanzong's spring sorrow.

The predecessors may think that Li Bai's poem is euphemistic, but the praise actually contains sarcasm. Therefore, there is a saying that the swallow in Gao Lishi's lyrics angered the imperial concubine. Obviously, this is an additional word. This group of Li Bai's works was intended to repeatedly praise the beauty of the imperial concubine and the elegant life of Emperor Xuanzong of the Tang Dynasty, but it was only a temporary thing.
