What kind of fruit is this?

This is ~ papaya begonia fruit, alias: Chaenomeles tomentosa, Mutao.

Papaya begonia (scientific name: papaya (hemsl. )schneid。 ) belongs to the genus Chaenomeles of Rosaceae, a small deciduous tree with thorns; Leaves alternate, simple, with large stipules; Flowers are solitary or clustered, usually leaves open first; Sepals 5, colored; Stamens are numerous; Petals 5, large; Stamens 20 or many; Ovary inferior, 5-loculed, with many ovules; Pears are fleshy. Born on forest margins under mountain slopes or ravines, 800- 1 100 meters above sea level. If the fruit is used as medicine, it has the effects of expelling wind, promoting qi circulation, relaxing muscles and tendons and relieving pain. Most of them are planted in gardens for greening.
