The allusion of "an armchair strategist" tells the story of Zhao Kuo's fiasco in the Battle of Changping in the Warring States Period, but the word "an armchair strategist" came into being in the Ming and Qing Dynasties. Zhao Kuo is familiar with the art of war and likes to talk about military affairs. The word "an armchair strategist" used by later generations to describe him does not mean that there was paper in his time.
It can be found that the word "paper" first appeared, which should be a couplet written by Qiao Yingjia during the Wanli period and the apocalypse period of the Ming Dynasty. There are many places to look up this word after that. For example, Tsinghua Changqing's poem "On paper, there is still heroism on the temples". The word "an armchair strategist" was first associated with Zhao Kuo, probably after reading the popular history of children written by the famous linguist Lin Handa at 1979.

Qin Jun led the troops in two ways: pretending to be defeated all the way and attracting the Zhao army around the barrier; Cut off Zhao's back road all the way and carry out counter-encirclement, so that Zhao's grain route was cut off and trapped in Changping. Finally, Zhao went on a hunger strike for forty-six days, and four roads failed to break through five times. Zhao Kuo personally led the warriors to break through, heroically killed the enemy, was shot and killed by Qin Jun, and hundreds of thousands of Zhao soldiers surrendered, and was raped and killed by Qin Jun.
