[Sweden] Te Lanster Le Mo
Dull water, dull sound, ancient hypnosis.
The river flooded the church cemetery behind the mask.
Flashing.
I clung to the railing of the bridge.
Bridge: A huge iron bird flies past death.

As the title suggests, this poem describes the feeling of melting ice and snow: in a world of melting ice and snow, the author sees the gurgling water of a small river, and its "dull sound" sounds like "ancient hypnosis" to the author-a word that has often been used to refer to death in the West since Homer. The visual image of "the river flooded the churchyard" provided by the author here is of course not an objective reality, but a psychological reality. The river winds through the churchyard. At that moment, the author may be far away from the "churchyard", thus creating the artistic illusion that "the river flooded the churchyard", where the "mask" symbolizes the tombstone in front of the "churchyard". It should also be pointed out that since the sound of "river" has been written as "ancient hypnosis" by the author, "river" itself cannot be regarded as a general natural image in poetry. In fact, it also indicates the terrible power of death, so the last sentence of the poem compares "bridge" to "a huge iron bird passing by death" and "I hold the railing of the bridge tightly", which fully reveals the lyric hero's fear of death and shows his extreme cherish of life from the opposite side.
We have read many poems about seed germination and bird singing caused by melting snow and ice. Reading this poem again will naturally refresh us. With the readers' whimsy, we will also enter the dreamland described in the poem, thus experiencing the powerlessness of human existence.
