Xue Pan is called "dumb overlord". As the name implies, it is stupid and overbearing.
Say "bully" first. It's simple. Their family is rich, their father died early, and their mother is unwilling to discipline them. Therefore, Xue Pan's behavior is both arbitrary and stupid. In the book, people were killed twice. On one occasion, they and Feng Yuan competed for Xiangling, and after letting their men kill someone, they walked away casually-this was written by Cao Xueqin. In the sequel to Gao E, he thought that Xue Pan could not only kill one person, but also arranged it in Chapter 86, saying that Xue Pan was away on business, had an argument with the waiter Zhang San, and killed someone in a fit of pique. This time, it took a lot of effort to get Xue Pan out of prison.
Say "stay" again.
This kind of "stupidity" is by no means a congenital IQ defect, but he lacks discipline, restraint and study since childhood. In a big family that needs reading to decorate the facade, it is even more vulgar. But this is not the most important thing, mainly willfulness. If you don't think too much, after a long time, you will speak straight and do things more obviously.
What contribution can a person with such a character make to the poetry circle?
This has to start with Xue Pan's poems.
A Dream of Red Mansions records two poems written by Xue Pan, which were forced out at a banquet with Jia Baoyu and Feng Ziying. The first song has four sentences. The first sentence is that the daughter is sad, and marrying a man is a turtle; My daughter was worried, and a big monkey appeared in the embroidery room. The daughter is happy, and the wedding candle is squatting; I won't extract the fourth sentence. The second song is a tune: "One mosquito hums, two flies buzz", which is called "Hum Rhyme" according to Xue Pan's statement.
Although Xue Pan's poems forced out by Jia Baoyu are nothing, his fame in the poetic world far exceeds that of Baoyu's generation-later generations adopted a poetic style called "Xue Pan Style" in his name.
"Xue Pan Style" sometimes refers to some colloquial and vulgar poems. Wang Kaiyun in the late Qing Dynasty once commented on Qi Baishi, saying that his paintings were good, but his poems were just "Xue Pan style".
How about Mr. Bai's poems? Let's just say that Wang Kaiyun's evaluation is not very accurate. From ancient times to the present, judging that poetry is shallow and vulgar, there are "Zhuzhi Ci" first, and then there are almost "doggerel". Why do you want to involve Uncle Xue? The key lies in the word "stay and bully", that is to say, it is not really vulgar to dare to talk nonsense directly.
Therefore, the author of Xue Pan Ti can't be an ordinary person! This reminds me of Zhang Zongchang in the Republic of China. He wrote a qualified poem "Xue Pan Ti", which goes like this: "The cannon was fired at his mother, and Jia Wei went home at home. The number of heroes is Zhang Zongchang, and the giant whale swallows Fusang. " How overbearing, the next pen is to "blow his mother." As for whether to fight or not, that's another matter.
