Chinese numerals can be used flexibly. For example, sometimes it just means less, such as "a few words", "nothing" and "a little knowledge". Due to the requirement of syllables, it is difficult to say that the first sentence of Mulan's poem is "the return of a strong man in twelve years" and the last sentence is "a colleague in ten years". Example 2 Liu Shaotang has a novel "Dahe Town", which contains such a turning complex sentence: there is a mouth under the nose, and everyone asks for directions; But three turns, four bends, five turns, six turns, seven turns, eight turns, and nine turns to ten ring. It's like I'm in Zhuge Liang's Eight Arrays. Without the yellow maze, I can't find a way out. There is a jiaozi store in Xi 'an. Among all kinds of jiaozi, there is a kind of jiaozi, each about the size of a pea, which is put in a hot pot for customers to catch themselves. Very polite waitress, standing at the table, sweetly "advertising": I caught one, smooth sailing; There are two, yes; Catch three, three English and gather righteousness; Grasping four seasons, the four seasons are evergreen; Grasping five, the grain is abundant; Grab six, grab six, grab six; Catch seven, seven stars shine; Catch eight or eight immortals crossing the sea; Grasp nine, forever; Ten minutes. Great. At this time, the waitress paused. There is suspense! You know, jiaozi is so small, it's extremely difficult to catch him by gently rolling in a hot pot. Don't say ten nine, even if you catch two or three, it's very powerful. At this time, everyone will naturally pay special attention to one question: what if you can't catch any of them? Then, the waitress smiled and spoke again: What if she didn't catch any? Good, carefree! Everyone was very happy and laughed. To tell the truth, this jiaozi is not very delicious. However, it makes everyone laugh like playing a game. I don't accurately record the waitress's words here, but even if I misread two or three sentences, I can still explain a fact: skillfully using numbers to add color to this "auspicious jiaozi" reflects the cleverness of the dumpling shop operators, and also shows that there are many miraculous effects that can be explored in the numbers.
It is worth noting that the use of numerals often reflects the folk customs of our Chinese nation. Give two examples.
The first example is to celebrate an 88-year-old man's birthday, which is called "Mi Shou". Why? Because the word "88" constitutes a word "rice". Another example is to celebrate a 99-year-old man's birthday and call him "Bai Shou". Why? Because one missing from a hundred is ninety-nine, and the word "hundred" missing from one is "white".
People often use "250" as a metaphor for people who are unreasonable and do inappropriate things. Why? There are many ways to say this. One way of saying this is: I'm afraid it has something to do with the traditional Confucian thought of attaching importance to agriculture and restraining commerce, and attaching importance to righteousness and neglecting profit. In the old days, 520 silver was a letter, 220 was a half letter, and the homonym was "half crazy". Therefore, comparing people who deal with benzene affairs to unqualified "semi-crazy" and "250" is quite characteristic of "Beijing School".
