The flood discharge capacity of ancient cities is difficult to estimate, and floods are quite frequent, especially the Yellow River, which is prone to floods. Du Fu, who cares about the country and people, wrote some poems reflecting the flood.
Two meters of wind and rain accumulate, and a hundred valleys leak waves.
It is said that the Red River Post is far from the sea.

In modern vernacular, these two poems are roughly like this: between heaven and earth, it is like a rainstorm that has accumulated for a long time (describing heavy rainfall). Grab a handful of grain (100 grains, the general term for grain) and all the water leaks through your fingers; It is said that the road has been washed away by the flood, which leads to the connection of rivers in the distance and the water level has been rising. It seems that the flood caused by the rainstorm described by Du Fu has reached the level of once in a hundred years, and the harm to the people can be imagined.
Storm disaster
Du Fu has a famous poem, which is actually about the wind disaster. The title of the poem is "Wind", and it is called "The hut was broken by the autumn wind". It begins with the words: in August, the wind roared, and it swept the Sanhe grass on my house.
In August and autumn, the wind roared and rolled up my three hairs.
