There is a saying in the Jianghu: "Red flowers with green leaves and white lotus roots", in which the green leaves refer to green gang, the white lotus roots refer to Bailian, and the red flowers at the beginning refer to Hong Men organization. How can Hong Men have such a great influence? Let's start with its family history.
Due to the age and lack of historical materials,
It is not clear which dynasty Hong Men originated from. There are many versions circulating in the Jianghu, some of which originated from the late Ming and early Qing dynasties. But what everyone agrees with is the Kangxi era.
At that time, Kangxi destroyed the South Shaolin Temple in Fujian, and heaven and earth would be at the helm.
Lord Chen Jinnan took in five fugitives, the so-called "five ancestors of Shaolin", and asked them to open a branch of the Heaven and Earth Society called Hong Men. There are many different sayings, so I won't repeat them one by one.
Besides word of mouth, there is actually one person in China who has the most say, and that is Dr. Sun Yat-sen, who once joined the Hong Men organization in the United States.
In Sun Yat-sen's Sun Yat-sen theory, it provides another
There is a saying: "Hong Men was founded in the Ming Dynasty and began in the Kangxi era." This seems to be consistent with what people say.
The book also said: "Before Gai Kangxi, the Ming Dynasty was eager to recover, and vowed to be unclear ... to form a group for the purpose of anti-Qing and regaining sight in order to achieve their goal of anti-Qing and regaining sight."
Based on the above, we probably know that the goal of Hong Men's establishment is to fight against the Qing Dynasty and regain its sight, and its birthplace must be organizations in Fujian and Guangdong in southern China.
However, history always runs counter to people's thinking. Time passed by, and by the middle of the Qing Dynasty, the rule was stable, and Hong Men's hope of anti-Qing and regaining sight became increasingly slim. At this time, in order to survive, some people began to defend their economic interests and joined gangs instead.
Later, the western powers opened the door to China through the Opium War, and from then on, the coastal ports had trade. A large number of poor people in Fujian and Guangdong set off a wave of going to Southeast Asia, and Hong Men also went abroad and moved to Southeast Asia, the United States and other Chinese gathering places.
Except for Hong Men, you may have heard of the names of organizations such as Knife Club, Three o'clock Club and Paoge, but in fact these organizations are all branches of Hong Men.
The development of Hong Men was after the Taiping Heavenly Kingdom and the Nian Army Uprising were put down one after another, the domestic situation was temporarily stable, and Hong Men ushered in a golden period of development. After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, Sun Yat-sen and other revolutionary forces were also inextricably linked with Hong Men gangs.
It can be said that Hong Men plays an important role in the development of China. 1On July 28th, 992, the third World Hong Men Conference was held in the United States. After two days' discussion by more than 100 delegates from all over the world, the Hong Men Federation was announced.
According to statistics, at present, there are more than one million members of the Hong Men Organization all over the world. Today, Hong Men has great influence and appeal, and Hong Men has become an indelible community force among overseas Chinese.
