Many people believe that Kuaiji Mountain, 6 kilometers south of Shaoxing City, is the Kuaiji Mountain in the "Book of Mountains and Seas". It is the place where Dayu married his wife and became a Zen monk, and where the Mausoleum of Dayu is located. During the Spring and Autumn Period, Wu and Yue called themselves the ancestors of Zhou and descendants of Dayu. The Kuaiji Mountain in Zhejiang was named after Goujian. History books say that King Goujian of Yue "featured him in Kuaiji to guard the sacrifices of Yu." Miao descendants entered Yue and were crowned kings. After the Western Han Dynasty regained Minyue, in order to consolidate its rule, it was officially named Kuaiji Mountain to offer sacrifices to Yu. There are many records in historical materials.

After the Han Dynasty, this place became a Buddhist and Taoist resort. Yangming Cave in the mountain was the tenth Taoist cave, and Xianglu Peak was a Buddhist resort. Today, the incense is strong.

Gu Kaizhi said that in Kuaiji Mountain, "Thousands of rocks are beautiful, thousands of gullies compete for water flow, and vegetation is covered on top, and the clouds bloom like clouds." Jin Dynasty nobles Wang Xizhi, Xie An and others settled in Shaoxing.

The poem written by Wang Ji, a poet of the Southern Dynasty, about Kuaiji Mountain, "The noisy cicadas in the forest are more quiet, and the birds singing in the mountain are more secluded" has been passed down through the ages.
