Explanation | Notes | Appreciation of Liu Zhi's "Zhonglvshan Sheep·Shuangtiao Gui Gui Ling"
Liu Zhi
Liu Zhi (1258?-1335? ), a Sanqu writer, with the courtesy name Shizhong and the nickname Buzhai, was born in Ningxiang, Shizhou (now Lishi, Shanxi). "Lu Gui Bu" respects him as one of the "predecessors with great talents and great talents" and calls him "Liu Shizhong to be made". In the second year of Dade (1298), he was recommended by Yao Sui as the magistrate of Hunan Prefecture, and served successively as Yongzhou Xinpan, Henan Provincial Governor, Hanlin Daizhi, and Zhejiang Provincial Governor. There are currently 74 Sanqu in Xiaoling, most of which are composed of pastoral scenes or as gifts from friends. Sheep on Zhonglvshan Mountain
Reflections on Yancheng
Yunshan has intention ①, but Xuan Shang has no plan ②. The tears of fame and fame are blown away by the west wind. They come and go, so I won’t mention them anymore. The green mountains are full of solutions and make people drunk, and the gains and losses are all physics④. Gain is in his destiny; loss is in our destiny.
Solution
Yancheng is located in present-day Yixian County, Hebei Province. This should refer to the capital of the Yuan Dynasty (today’s Beijing). After the death of Emperor Taiding, the struggle for the throne became extremely fierce. The author left Beijing and went south to serve as the capital of Zhejiang Province. Witnessing the corruption and strife in the imperial court, thinking about the uncertainty of my own future and the dangers of the officialdom, I couldn't help but worry about it. This piece of music is about the melancholy of having no plans for success and being worried, and at the same time it also reveals the idea of ??going into seclusion. The lament that "gain" and "loss" in the song are attributed to destiny (luck) actually expresses resentment against the "west wind" that "blosses the tears of fame and fortune". The author's sorrow and indignation are profound and wide.
Notes
① Yunshan - refers to a secluded mountain.
②Xuan Shang - official cars and official uniforms, metaphorically referring to official status and wealth.
③ Qu Lai Xi - using the words of Tao Yuanming's "Gui Qu Lai Xi". Come, a particle.
④Physics - the common sense and laws of things.
⑤Mingli - destiny. Shuangtiao Zhegui Order
Fishing
Mandarin fish fat, flowing water and peach blossoms ①, mountain rain and stream wind, desert and flat sand ②. Konjac and coir raincoat ③, pen bed and tea stove ④, small writing career ⑤, woodcutter picking polygonum buds in Fangzhou ⑥, fisher boy's salary farewell to Qingpu coriander. A small fishing boat ⑦, a floating house ⑧, a group of barbarians, and thousands of hectares of haze.
Explanation of the problem
Liu Zhi wrote a set of Sanqu of "Nong", "Fishing", "Lumberjack" and "Husbandry" in the "Zhegui Ling" tune. This book selects a song called "Fishing". The song describes the idealized life of a fisherman, mainly his unrestrained and free "little writing career", expressing the author's envy for this reclusive life. The scenery of the whole song is gorgeous and vivid, giving people a pleasing feeling.
Notes
① The sentence "guī fish" - an appropriation of "The Fisherman's Song" by Zhang Zhihe of the Tang Dynasty: "Egrets fly in front of Xisai Mountain, and peach blossoms and flowing water make mandarin fish fat." verse.
② Momo - the appearance of dense clouds and smoke.
③Ruò hat - a bamboo hat woven from young cattails. Coir raincoat is a rain-proof equipment made of grass or brown and worn on the body.
④ Pen bed and tea stove - "New Book of Tang·Hermit Biography" records that Lu Guimeng "did not like to interact with the customs... He set up a boat and set up a mat, and brought books, tea stove, pen bed and fishing gear to and from... ..." Later, "pen bed tea stove" was used to refer to the secluded life.
⑤The life of a small writer - still talking about the life of a small family.
⑥ Two sentences of "Qiao Qing" - it means that slaves work hard. Qiaoqing, Yutong, Zhang Zhihe of the Tang Dynasty died of his own death and no longer served as an official, calling himself Yanbo Tuzi. Emperor Suzong of the Tang Dynasty gave a slave and a maidservant, and they were married to each other, named Yutong Qiaoqing. Later, the slaves were often given the common names of Qiaoqing and Yutong. See the "Stele of Mr. Langji Xuanzhenzi Zhang Zhihe" in Volume 9 of "Collected Works of Yan Lugong" by Yan Zhenqing of the Tang Dynasty. Fangzhou, a small piece of land in the water covered with fragrant grass. Polygonum (liǎo) bud, the bud of Polygonum. Polygonum is an herbaceous plant with many varieties. The one that grows by the water is called Polygonum, which tastes bitter and spicy. Beppa, Milky Way. Because the Milky Way is a place isolated from the two stars Cowherd and Weaver Girl, it is so called. Jianjia, reed.
⑦艖 (chā) - small boat.
⑧Three sentences of "Fan Zhai" - using the story of Fan Li from the Yue Kingdom in the Spring and Autumn Period to express the reclusive life. After Fan Li assisted the King of Yue to destroy Wu, he resolutely resigned from office and sailed across the sea to avoid disasters (see "Historical Records: The Family of King Goujian of Yue"). Also, after Fan Li left Yue and came to Qi, he changed his name to 鸱(chī) Yizipi. There is also a sentence in Liu Shizhong of the Yuan Dynasty [Shuangdiao·Shuixiancao]: "When a group of barbarians went to pick up a girl from Zhuluo Mountain, they changed their surname to Tao Zhu".
