What variety is Litchi with Green Peel?

Green-skinned litchi is a variety of green-shelled litchi in Hougang.

Litchi with green shell is an excellent variety with black leaves, full fruit, large fruit, small stone and thick meat, usually about 1 kg 18, which can keep the color and taste unchanged for three or four days after picking. Our common green litchi is what we call Hougang green litchi. When the green-shell litchi is ripe, the fruit color is slightly reddish, and when the fresh green-shell litchi is peeled, it has a special fruit aroma. The flesh is crystal clear as suet jade, crisp and sweet. Eating it in summer is like manna, which really means: "This thing should only be available in the sky, and it is rare to taste it on earth."

What's more strange is that a peeled pulp accidentally fell to the ground and didn't touch the sand, which really deserves to be the top grade of litchi. Zhaoan litchi is listed in large quantities from the summer to the 10 day in the future, and then the Hong Kong green shell will look beautiful almost half a month after "all the fragrance is shaken off". There is no doubt that the green shell litchi has extended the supply period of litchi all year round. People enjoy the treasures of the world year after year, and they are also keen to tell stories about green-shelled litchi.

Causes of litchi retting roots

1. The root system of litchi has vertical roots and horizontal roots. The vertical roots of trees with seedlings and grafted seedlings are relatively developed, while the horizontal roots of trees with ring-branch seedlings are relatively developed. The grafted seedlings and ring-branch seedlings planted by the factory have thick roots, deep soil layer, loose soil and low groundwater level. Roots can be rooted for 3~5m, but they are planted in rivers and paddy fields with high groundwater level and often surrounded by tides.

2. Root growth is closely related to soil temperature, and the root system is inactive when the soil temperature is lower than 10℃. Generally, litchi roots are drought-tolerant and moisture-tolerant, but they are not afraid of drought or waterlogging. Planting in the paddy field with poor drainage under the above conditions will often lead to the scorching of the leaf tips, even weak growth, and even death in severe cases. The reason is that the root system is prone to retch when the humidity is too high for a long time, especially when the soil temperature is lower than 10℃.
