Tianan city gate explanation

Tiananmen Gate consists of two parts: Gate Tower and Gate Tower. It is made of white marble with a total height of 34.7 meters. Tiananmen Gate Tower is 66 meters long and 37 meters wide, located on the central axis of Beijing Imperial City. There is a portrait of Mao Zedong hanging above the door in the middle, with big slogans on both sides, namely * * * of the people of China and long live the great unity of the people of the whole country and the people of the world.

Tiananmen Square is located in the center of Beijing, the capital of People's Republic of China (PRC), at the southern end of the Forbidden City, facing Tiananmen Square, the Monument to the People's Heroes, the Great Hall of the People, the Chairman Mao Memorial Hall and the National Museum of China across Chang 'an Avenue.

Tiananmen Square covers an area of about 4,800 square meters and attracts worldwide attention for its outstanding architectural art and special political status.

Tiananmen Square was originally named Chengtianmen, which means "blessed by heaven and ordered by heaven". In the eighth year of Qing Shunzhi (165 1), it was officially renamed Tiananmen Square.
