However, this classic motto left by the ancients has been widely quoted by the vast number of land management workers, and it has almost become the motto of people's rational use of land and effective protection of cultivated land.
But for a long time, when people quoted this language, they thought it was put forward by Zhai Hao, a scholar in Qianlong period of Qing Dynasty. The author has also used this statement and has seen this quotation many times in different language occasions.
After reading ancient poems recently, I found that this language is not from Zhai Hao, a scholar in Qing Dynasty, but from Liu Gengtang Biography written by Ye Shi in Song Dynasty.
Ye Shi, born in 1 150, died in 1223, with a regular word, was a layman in Shui Xin; Wenzhou Yongjia (now Yongjia County, Zhejiang Province) people. Song Xiaozong Xichun was a scholar for four years, and later he was framed and took office. From then on, he wrote behind closed doors, including The Collected Works of Mr. Shui Xin. Liu Geng Tang Ji is a narrative in the Collected Works of Mr. Shui Xin, and "Save your space for your descendants" is the prologue of Liu Geng Tang Ji.
The Story of Liugengtang records a man named Ge, and named his house Liugengtang according to two folk proverbs that people recited at that time. Its significance lies in promoting this motto with important educational function and educating future generations to cherish the land, work hard, be frugal and stand on their own feet.
Ye Shi mentioned in The Story of Liu Gengtang that these two folk proverbs can be seen everywhere in his childhood hometown. Later, when I grew up, I went outside to study for exams and even become an official. In many places, people can remember these two proverbs and warn each other. Especially when he saw that Ge Zi could name his mansion with the words "Liu" and "Geng" in these two proverbs, he was not only deeply moved, but also learned a lot. Therefore, he wrote the article "Liu Geng Tang Ji" to record his understanding of this long-standing proverb. Although the article is only 450 words, it is meaningful, ingenious in layout, fluent in narration and meaningful in argumentation. In particular, the author launched a well-founded discussion about what to leave for future generations. The author profoundly expounds that it is more important to leave a loyal duty and a hard-working moral character to future generations, that is, "care", than to leave a wealth of "abundant crops", that is, "leave goods". Especially the excellent sentences in the article, such as "take less if you want more;" Want more, want less; If you gain more, you should not struggle ",which not only has profound philosophy, but also has an important warning function." Ma Shi Tang (790 ~ 8 16) desert is like snow, Yanshan moon is like a hook.
Don't be a golden brain, go and step on the clear autumn. You present a flower,
I present a flower,
Let's weave a big wreath,
Dedicated to my dear teacher and mother.
You gave the seeds,
As warm as the sun;
You sweat,
Water the seedlings.
Your eyes are like bright stars,
Shining with charming brilliance;
Your song is like a spring stream,
Brought joy to everyone.
Wherever we go,
Always remember your feelings;
No matter where we go.
Always remember your words.
Wherever we go,
Always remember your love;
Wherever we go,
Will always be a flower of yours.
