Monday’s class is the most difficult to attend. The students are always tired. I don’t know if it’s because they were too relaxed on weekends or because they attended various tutoring classes. In order to refresh the students and focus their attention, I always find some materials and spend three to five minutes to let the students talk and discuss. Today, what I prepared is a short poem I read over the weekend - The peach blossoms are just blooming, but the hearts of the people are already blooming.
When I first saw this poem, I thought it was good and kept it in my heart. Some poems can always give people inexplicable touch and warmth. It feels like you are in a foreign place, have no direction, and have no way to go, and suddenly receive a kindness from a stranger.
For example, Yu Xiuhua's poem -
The wind blowing through my village blows through your city,
The river flowing through my village passes through your city,
But how lucky,
The sadness that broke me has not broken you
For example, Wang Meng’s poem——
All the days ,
Come all the days,
Let us weave you,
With the golden thread of youth and the necklace of happiness,
Knit you.
For example, Yeats's poem -
How many people love you when you are young and happy,
Admire your beauty, falsely or sincerely,
Only one person loves your pilgrim soul,
Loves the painful wrinkles on your aging face;
Such as Shelley's poem -
Winter is coming, can spring be far behind?
For example, Bian Zhilin's poem -
You stand on the bridge and look at the scenery,
The people watching the scenery are watching you upstairs.
The bright moon decorates your windows,
You decorate other people’s dreams.
For example, teacher Chen Chao's poem -
How quiet are the grains of sand that break up the days in vain,
bend down to mediocrity,
You become docile by learning to be considerate.
When it comes to poetry, I get inexplicably excited. Although I have never written a few sentences, it does not affect my love.
Okay, okay, let’s get back to business and talk about the first five minutes of my class. When these two poems were played on the screen, the classroom began to whisper, and the sound kept getting louder, and finally it became lively.
Starting from the roll call, some slowly raised their hands, some stood up on their own, and talked a lot, expressing their understanding: about love, about society, about human hearts, about history, about peach blossoms, about Spring, about women...
Watching the students move, I immediately typed out the background of this poem to end the exchange - this poem is a peach blossom written by the poet Zhang Xinquan in spring Poetry meeting. Then, the classmates said "oh". Well, that "oh" should contain both epiphany and regret. However, my goal was achieved - to awaken the spirit. Of course, I also added "Knowing People and Discussing the World" at the right time, which introduced a point in this lesson.
After class, a student came over and asked me, is the "chaos" in "people's hearts are in chaos" the same as the "noisy" in "the red apricot branches are bustling with spring"? oh! Yes, different approaches but the same effect! This guy is also a beautiful flower!
