Ai Qing's Sunshine in the Distance
The sun is in the distant desert,
The ship sailed on the river covered with dark clouds,
Dark wind,
Dark sand,
dark
The traveler's heart.
-The sun is smiling.
Shooting in the distance of the desert.

It was in a foreign country. The 22-year-old overseas traveler is trying to get around. Away from home, away from relatives, away from the motherland. While working and studying, I experienced the coldness of the world again and again in a foreign country.
Young heart-when it should be happy and passionate, it has a lot of accumulation: loneliness? Lonely? Lonely and desolate? Hard work of running around? It seems clear, but I can't tell. It's thick and heavy anyway ...
"The sun is in the distant desert."
The first sentence of this poem is endless. Maybe this sentence is realistic. The poet saw the real scene of "the sun is far away in the desert" on the boat. It is natural and appropriate to write this picture, which highlights the sunshine. Looking at this poem alone, it seems dull and nothing strange, but when you look at it together with the following poems, you can see the weight of this poem. This poem is not only realistic but also symbolic.
"The ship was sailing on the river covered with dark clouds."
This second poem seems realistic, but it is in sharp contrast with the first sentence. The sun is far away in the desert is static, while the boat is sailing on a dark river is dynamic. The sun is shining in the distance of the desert, but the ship is covered by dark clouds. This static movement, one bright and one dark, forms a great contrast.
Excitedly
The most touching thing is the following sentence:
"Dark wind,/dark sand,/dark/passenger's heart. /"
Originally, the second poem was surprisingly good, and the short sentences behind it were even more subtle. The poet caught the word "dark" in the second sentence and used three words "dark" in the latter sentence, which became the backbone of this poem. These "dark" words are getting heavier and heavier every time until they fall into the "dark guest's heart", which seems to have a vital force. The "dark clouds", "dark wind" and "dark sand" in front serve the "dark traveler's heart", which makes people step by step into the traveler's heart, and this heart is so dark that people can't breathe.
"The sun is smiling/shining in the distance of the desert."
This is the last poem. It echoes the first sentence and strengthens the effect. In particular, the word "pat" vividly writes the expression of sunshine.
Generally speaking, a prominent feature of this poem is the clever use of contrast. Sunshine is a symbol, a symbol of light and warmth. However, it "shoots far away in the desert" and "laughs". On the other hand, the "passenger's heart" on the ship is "dark", which completely summarizes all kinds of deposits in the "passenger's heart", leaving readers with a broad space for thinking. One bright and one dark form a shocking contrast. The sun shines only in the distance of the desert. Why not project it on the ship, on the "passengers' hearts" to dispel this "darkness"? The sadness in the poet's heart and the poet's yearning have been well expressed.
