Weekend is a national legal holiday, and civil affairs bureau staff can choose Monday to Friday when they are not at work. However, according to the regulations, marriage registration offices in some areas have implemented normal marriage registration on Saturdays (except legal holidays).
In addition, on the mornings of special days such as New Year's Day, New Year's Eve, Valentine's Day, Labor Day and National Day, the marriage registration will be handled as usual. So the Civil Affairs Bureau has people working from Monday to Saturday. However, local regulations may be different, so it is recommended to go directly to the local marriage registration agency for confirmation.
