Brief introduction of Lian Po
Lian Po is a general of Zhao State. He is brave and good at fighting, and has made great contributions to Zhao State. Lian Po is also known as one of the four famous soldiers in the Warring States Period. Throughout Lian Po's life, it can be divided into three periods.
In the first period, that is, during the Huiwen period in Zhao Haoqi, Lian Po was recognized and valued by Huiwen in Zhao Haoqi, and was named Shangqing, which was the highest official position at that time. Lian Po also lived up to his mission, made meritorious military service repeatedly, prevented the invasion of Qin State, and made indelible contributions to the national stability of Zhao State. During the same period, Lian Po and his good friend Lin Xiangru made great contributions to the prosperity of Zhao.
The second period is the period of Zhao Haoqi Cheng Xiao. After Zhao Huiwen's death, his son Zhao Chengxiao became the monarch of Zhao. During this period, Zhao and Qin competed for Shangdang area, and Lian Po led Zhao to battle. Because Lian Po was at a disadvantage and the war was difficult, several head-on confrontations failed.
Lian Po
Zhao Haoqi Cheng Xiao was eager for success, so he sent Zhao Kuo instead of Lian Po. Zhao Kuo is just an armchair strategist with little practical experience. So Zhao's army was quickly defeated, and this war cost Zhao a lot of troops.
The third period is Zhao Dunxiang's period. After Mou Xiang came to power, he listened to the slanderers and dismissed Lian Po. Lian Po took refuge in Wei because of being excluded. As a result, the monarch of Wei became suspicious of Lian Po and dared not appoint him. During this period, the prince of Zhao sent guards to inquire about the whereabouts of Lian Po and wanted to appoint him.
However, the guards were bought by traitors, and they went back and said that Lian Po was too old to lead troops to fight, and the prince of Zhao was useless to Lian Po. Later, knowing that Lian Po was in Wei, the monarch of Chu sent someone to take him to Chu. After Lian Po became a general of Chu, he made no achievements. Because he was attached to Zhao, he eventually died in Shouchun, Chu.
How did Lian Po die?
Lian Po died at the age of 85, and finally died in Shouchun, Chu. The most brilliant moment of Lian Po's life was during the reign of Zhao Huiwen. Because of his bravery, he was highly valued by King Zhao Huiwen, and Lian Po lived up to his mission. After many battles, he returned home in triumph, which inspired the morale of the Zhao people.
Shortly after King Huiwen of Zhao acceded to the throne, Chyi Chin was the most powerful. Qin wanted to annex other vassal States, and the king of Qin attacked Zhao many times. King Huiwen of Zhao sent Lian Po to meet the enemy, and Lian Po defeated Qin Jun bravely for many times. Later, Zhao, South Korea, Yan and Wei fought against Qi, and Qi was defeated by the armies of the four countries. Later, Lian Po led Zhao to attack Qi and occupied the territory of Jin Yang. King Hui was very happy and named Lian Po Shangqing as a token of his praise.
Lian Po is not only brave and good at fighting, but also has superb fighting spirit. In addition, Lian Po's noble character, such as understanding righteousness, correcting mistakes and patriotism, is the highlight of Lian Po, which is talked about by later generations.
Lian Po was well aware of Lin Xiangru's foresight, and deeply reflected on his behavior, thinking that he was too short-sighted. In order to get Lin Xiangru's forgiveness, Lian Po went to Lin Xiangru's house with bare arms and carrying Vitex negundo. Lin Xiangru was moved by Lian Po's spirit of correcting mistakes, and soon they became best friends.
Later, after Lian Po was framed by the minister of the DPRK, he was transferred to Chu several times. The monarch of Chu attached great importance to Lian Po and appointed Lian Po as the general. But Lian Po was still very concerned about Zhao, but Lian Po died in Shouchun of Chu. Later, Sima Qian recorded Lian Po's life in Historical Records, and his story has been widely circulated to this day.
In his later years, Lian Po was still eager to gallop on the battlefield and serve the country faithfully. He is a general of a country and has made great achievements in the border areas. Even Sima Qian once praised him: Lian Po is the general of Zhao Zhiliang. Summon up the courage to smell the prince. Unfortunately, he ended up in a desperate situation and wasted his ambition.
