No one can hide the brilliance of the moon. Her beautiful figure is beautiful and her texture is much worse.
The sound of the vast Ye Yuanyin coming to Yi Dao, the rooster crowing at night will be able to stop the waning moon still hanging on the horizon.
Wanderers in Qiu Jiang are more melancholy when they listen to the flute, and the young woman upstairs leans against the railing at the end of the night.
Lonely Chang 'e couldn't help asking in the Moon Palace: What caused people not to reunite forever? ?
Emotional chanting makes people worry about the scenery and the moon.
Translation:
No one can hide her in the light of the moon. She is beautiful, but her texture is cold. The vast Yuan Ye is covered with silver clothes, and the rooster announces the dawn of the night, but the waning moon is still hanging in the horizon. Qiu Jiang's wanderers smell the flute, adding more sorrow. The injured young woman upstairs is tired of leaning against the railing all night. Chang 'e, who provoked loneliness in the Moon Palace, couldn't help asking: What is the reason why people never reunite?
This article is taken from "Xiang Ling Yin Yue (III)" by Cao Xueqin in Qing Dynasty.
Creative background:
Xiangling's ode to the third moon is a seven-character poem written by Cao Xueqin, a writer in Qing Dynasty, and the third poem written by Xiangling in A Dream of Red Mansions. However, Xiangling was not discouraged after she failed to write a poem. She tried to write a second poem.
This poem is not as clumsy as the first one. It can be set off by flowers and night dew, and its poetry is relaxed. But, too boring, too persistent. Baochai, in the end, became orthodox and said that her poem "every sentence is moonlight." Cao Xueqin arranged for Xiangling to study poetry so far, but still kept the poetry on the surface, and the ideological realm of the characters has not yet entered the role, in order to set off the success of the third poem.
Appreciate:
This is the third song sang by Xiangling. After some hard exploration, Xiangling finally found a way to write poetry, so as soon as this poem came out, it shone brilliantly and became a truly artistic work.
The first sentence of the poem is extraordinary: "it is difficult to hide the essence." On the surface, the dense clouds can't cover the pure and bright moonlight after all, but in fact, it implies that talented women like Xiangling will stand out one day, thus conveying the firm belief that learning poetry will be successful. The second sentence closely links the image of the moon with the poet's life experience, singing about the moon and singing about people, and the two are in harmony.
