Legend in Nezha: The birthplace of Tianjin City is the Sanchahekou where the South Canal, the North Canal and the Haihe River meet. As a water transportation center, the Ming Dynasty was very prosperous, and there was a poem that said, "In the morning, at the mouth of the Sancha River, ten thousand ships gathered together." My family lives next to Haihe River. When I was a child, I liked to play and swim in the Haihe River, watching the sails swimming on the river and listening to melodious fishing songs. Haihe River is closely related to everyone's life in Tianjin and contains many magical legends. Among them, the story of Sanchahekou is widely circulated.
Nezha, a native of Chentangzhuang, Tianjin, is the third son of Li Jing, the company commander of Chentangguan. Li Furen gave birth to a meatball after three years and six months of pregnancy. Suddenly, a boy jumped out of the light. Excavate was unhappy, but a Taoist named Taiyi came to congratulate him, named the child Nezha, accepted him as a disciple, and gave him two treasures on the spot: Gankun Circle and Huntianling. When Nezha was seven years old, the heavens and the earth split, and the Dragon King of the East China Sea kept dripping, and ordered the hag to go to the seaside to rob boys and girls. Brave Nezha killed Haga with a circle of dried Kun at the mouth of Sancha River, and killed Ao Bing, the son of the Dragon King who came to reinforce him. The Dragon King went to the Heavenly Palace to complain and was beaten half to death by Nezha on the way. So the Dragon King of the East China Sea invited the three brothers to discuss revenge. The next day, the Dragon King of the Four Seas led the sailors to make waves and flooded Tianjin. Excavate refused to retreat until he handed over Nezha. Nezha wanted to fight back, but he was stopped by Excavate and robbed Nezha of two magic weapons. Nezha stepped forward and committed suicide for the safety of Tianjin people. Afterwards, Taiyi real people borrowed lotus flowers and fresh lotus roots to bring Nezha back to life. After the resurrection, Nezha, armed with muskets and riding hot wheels, made a scene in the Dragon Palace, defeated the Dragon King and killed the people.
In fact, Nezha is not from Tianjin, China or even a local. Nezha is an Indian god, whose full name is "Naqiju Faro" or "Rona Gupo", which is translated into Nezha and Nana in Sanskrit. According to Buddhist scriptures, he is the third prince (grandson) of King Vishnu. Vishnu is the king of Buddhism guarding the north, with pagodas, mostly held by Nezha. Nezha's story was only known in the Tang Dynasty, which was related to the introduction of tantric Buddhism. At first, Nezha was a charming boy with wonderful colors and a smile on his face. He holds the magic weapon of the sun and the moon, and wears a dragon brocade around his waist, which will change and make a dragon beg for rain. By the Song Dynasty, he had become a prodigy with three heads and six arms, and later became "Nezha with eight arms".
Nezha is the patron saint of the north, and his deeds are very popular in the north. According to legend, when Minister Liu Duxiu built the capital (now Beijing), Liu opened eleven gates in Beijing according to the image of Nezha with three heads, six arms and two feet: the south gate symbolized three heads, the east gate symbolized six arms, and the north gate symbolized two feet, so most of them were also called Nezha City. In the Ming Dynasty, there was another legend that Liu Bowen built Nezha with eight arms.
The story of Ina's trouble at sea began with the Romance of the Gods compiled by the Ming Dynasty. In chapter 12 of the book, "Where was Chen Tangguan born", it is said that Nezha is the son of Li Jing, the company commander of Chen Tangguan, who was born strangely. The following two chapters describe his magical power. It happens that there are Chentangzhuang and Haihe River in Tianjin, so the story of the sea trouble is easily accepted by Tianjin people. Besides, Nezha is a lively and lovely handsome guy with a wide personal connection, and he is certainly proud of being a fellow countryman. However, the book does not explain exactly where it was held, and Guan and Zhuang have different opinions, so it seems far-fetched. It doesn't matter where he comes from, so there is no need to be serious.
The legend of Ina's companionship with the sea has been passed down from mouth to mouth and immersed in the hearts of everyone in Tianjin. People like Nezha. In Yangliuqing New Year pictures, the fat doll holding carp looks like him! Tianjin people are attached to this story. In 1980s, a statue of Nezha defeating the Dragon King stood beside the Lion Forest Bridge in Sanchahekou, showing people's love and cherish for Nezha.
