Understanding of "a big belly can accommodate things that are hard to tolerate in the world, and a long smile is a ridiculous person"

After Zhu Yuanzhang proclaimed himself emperor, he wrote couplets for Huang Jue Temple, his hometown temple where he became a monk for four years, and named it longxing temple.

It means that a person should tolerate others, that is, "measure", that is, volume. There are many adults, but not many villains. If there is no tolerance for people, it can't be a big deal.

There is also a couplet describing Maitreya Buddha.

A big belly can tolerate the intolerable things in the world and smile at the ridiculous people in the world.

In other words, he has a broad mind.

There is nothing in the world that he can't tolerate.
