Pinyin name Zhānɡ Shu Zǐ
The aliases are Zhang Li (Outline), Cinnamomum camphora, Alpinia officinarum (Guizhou folk prescription collection), Cinnamomum camphora (annals of traditional Chinese medicine), Zhangkou (annals of Guangxi traditional Chinese medicine), Cinnamomum camphora, and Cinnamomum camphora (Guangdong traditional Chinese medicine II).
The source is the fruit of Cinnamomum camphora of Lauraceae. Harvest mature fruits in autumn and winter and dry them in the sun.
The original plant morphology is recorded in detail in the camphor wood strips.
Habitat is distributed in Guangdong, Guangxi, Guizhou and Hunan.
Dried fruit, spherical, brown-black to purple-black, uneven surface shrinkage, or shiny, about 5 ~ 8 mm in diameter, part of the base is still preserved by perianth. The pericarp is thin and contains 1 seed, which is black. The smell is fragrant and spicy. It is best to be large, full, dry and free of impurities.
Guiyang folk herbs: pungent, warm and non-toxic.
Functional indication
Dispelling cold and removing dampness, promoting qi circulation and relieving pain. Treat vomiting and diarrhea, stomach cold and abdominal pain, beriberi and toxic swelling.
Oral administration and dosage: decocted, 3 ~ 5 yuan. External use: decoct and wash.

1 Used for dizziness, headache, vomiting, diarrhea and abdominal pain: Cinnamomum camphora, Flemingia philippinensis, Millettia speciosa, and Ma Jian, decocted in water. External washing with decoction for treating beriberi of cold-dampness type. (Guangdong Traditional Chinese Medicine II)
