High-speed railway, referred to as high-speed railway, refers to a railway system with high design standards and fast train running speed. Its concept is not limited to tracks, let alone trains.

The first official high-speed railway system in the world is the Tokaido Shinkansen, which was completed and opened to traffic in 1964. It connects Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka, the three major metropolitan areas in Japan, and promotes the rapid development of Japan.
