Jia Dao can be said to be a real poet. What is a poet? That is to say, work hard on words, hammer words and refine sentences painstakingly, and pursue literal perfection. Conception and layout, to achieve Excellence. It is normal for a poet to "sing a word and break a few whiskers".
It is this spirit of "bitterness" that influenced the generation in the late Tang Dynasty. It also changed Jia Dao's life.
One evening, Jia Dao rode a donkey and walked on a weedy path to visit Li Ning. It took a long walk along the thorny mountain road to get to Li Ning's house. In the dead of night, he is going to knock at the door and call Li Ning. Suddenly, he found that the birds in the tree were awakened by his knock on the door in the bright moonlight. As a result, Li Ning was not at home that night, so he left a poem in front of Li Ning's house:
Li Ning lived in seclusion in Tang Dynasty: Jia Dao lived in seclusion with few neighbors, and the grass path entered an empty garden. Birds are freely perched in the trees by the pool, and monks are knocking at the door. Walking across this bridge, you can see the charming scenery of Ye Yuan, and the feet of clouds seem to be moving on the floating rocks. I will leave here for a while, but I will come back and retire with my friends on the appointed date.
On the way back to Chang 'an the next day, I suddenly remembered yesterday's sentence, "Birds live in trees by the pool, and monks (push/knock) on the door." Jia Dao, who has always pursued perfection in writing, was stumped by the choice of "pushing" and "knocking". I don't know which word can better reflect the environment, mood and artistic conception at the moment. The use of "push" is too rigid and loses the artistic conception of poetry. The same "knock on the door" is too bright, breaking the silence of the night. Extremely disappointed, he struggled and considered these two words all the way. Jia Dao was worried and looked trance, even to the point where he didn't want to look at the road. As a result, I ran into Han Yu's honor guard of chariots and horses while walking, and kept pushing and knocking at the door. Later, the attendants brought Jia Dao to Han Yu, who asked him why. Jia Dao honestly told Han Yu that there was something difficult to choose in the poem. Instead of blaming and punishing him, Han Yu thought about it and replied, Knock. If the door is closed, how can you push it open? After all, it would be more polite to knock. Jia Dao, who got the result, was very happy and went home with Han Yu. At home, the two discussed the methods and artistic conception of poetry, and Han Yu was reluctant to let him go for several days. After staying for several days, they became good friends. At the same time, Jia Dao was also influenced by Han Yu, and he became famous.
Soon after, he took off his robe and became a Confucian scholar, and decided to take the imperial examination on the recommendation of Han Yu. However, his career was extremely bumpy. I don't know how many times he took the exam, and he failed from Sun Shan every time. On one occasion, he was even labeled as "keeping ten evils".
In fact, Jia Dao really put a lot of effort into his career. He promoted himself countless times and made himself as famous as possible. After all, if you want to get a first-class merit and a second-class merit in the Tang Dynasty exam, there is no way out. Jia Dao has no background and backing, so it is difficult for him to achieve anything in the imperial examination.
A swordsman? Tang dynasty:? A knife grinds a sword for ten years, but the frost blade never tries. Now take it out and show it to you. Whoever is wronged may as well tell me the truth.
Jia Dao wrote this poem "the legendary swordsman" in order to find a Bole who can understand horses very well. The meaning of the poem is: "It takes ten years to sharpen a good sword, and the body emits cold light, but no one has ever tried how sharp it is." I'll show you today. If anyone has something that can't be solved, just tell me. "The poet uses his sword as a metaphor to make people appreciate him. However, he was born humble and scrawny, and never got the approval of the court. When Jia Dao walked through the courtyard of Peidu with a heart of hatred, she sang tearfully:
Tear down a thousand trees to make a pool instead of planting peaches, plums and roses. Bai Yutang autumn wind, thorns full court, you know.
He lamented the darkness of the imperial court and wrote about social injustice. He began to despise the powerful and dismissive. I didn't join the army until I was old, and finally I died in the office. The second half of his life can be said to be miserable. It is apt to describe the second half of Jia Dao's life with the phrase "It is inevitable to become a monk and think about the customs, but it is difficult to give up Zen". Because of persistence, he doesn't like too many rules in the temple and is not free. He said with emotion: "It is better to have cattle and sheep and return at sunset." After returning to the secular world, I still have a heart of practice. As Yao He said: "Crazy songs are like tears, and sorrows are like Zen." In reality, when I sing a poem, I am as crazy as crying, and when I am upset, I sit down like a monk. In this way, he spent the second half of his life as a semi-vulgar and semi-monk, with a strong vulgar flavor and a strong monk flavor.
Because of "pushing and bumping", Jia Dao got to know Han Yu, and because of Han Yu, he was determined to embark on his career. In the end, my career was frustrated, my thoughts were tangled, and my life was confused. ...
