A famous painter who connects the past and the future between the French classical school and the Romantic school, David's student.
This painting is "attalla's Funeral" or "attalla's Tomb" (1808 classical oil painting on canvas of 207cm×267cm: preserved in the Louvre).
This painting shows that both love and religion want to keep this young woman. In the cave reflected by the setting sun, Mr. brito, an old hermit, was holding the body of attalla, a half-breed. Indian youth Jokto was heartbroken and hugged the young woman's knee tightly. Attalla committed suicide in the struggle with his lover Giotto and his pledge to devote himself to Christianity. Holding the cross tightly in her hand shows her purity, and the curve outlined by her clothes shows her youth. The poem in the Book of Job is engraved on the cave wall: "When it is still blooming, it is not all plants if it is not stopped by hands." This painting is based on the French romantic novelist chateaubriand's attalla.
