Known as "light painting is not gray, light splash is thick, thick splash is light, poetry is ethereal, and books are both dragon and tiger". As well as Anhui Xuan paper, Zhang Daqian, a master of Chinese painting, once praised it as "the second treasure of the country". The state attaches great importance to the protection of intangible cultural heritage. On May 20th, 2006, this production technique was approved by the State Council to be included in the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage list. On June 5, 2007, the Ministry of Culture confirmed Yang Zhanyao of Jiajiang County, Sichuan Province and Zhuang Fuquan of Fuyang City, Zhejiang Province as the representative inheritors of this cultural heritage project, and included them in the list of 226 representative inheritors of the first batch of national intangible cultural heritage projects.

Bamboo and hemp trumpets are folk songs with the most local characteristics in Jiajiang, which are popular in paper-producing areas such as Macun, Zhongxing, Yingjiang and Huatou. In the past, beating bamboo and hemp pulp was all done by hand. During production, one person sang the chorus while playing, which not only coordinated the movements, but also reduced fatigue. Therefore, people who have good voices and remember more lyrics are highly valued and compete to be hired as lead singers.

There are more than ten kinds of tunes and accents in the bamboo and hemp songs, such as high notes, flat tones, Dangdang, Huanhuan, kink, Yinsi and Wang Shi. You can sing a single song or several songs together, with a strong sense of rhythm and many changes, and it has an authentic Jiajiang papertown atmosphere. The lyrics are similar to folk songs, from random singing to improvisation. Even passers-by can sing everything they see.

In order to preserve the lyrics of folk songs and songs in the county, the Cultural Department organized a special person to collect 250 songs in 1982. After sorting and screening, more than 20 songs were collected in Jiajiang Folk Songs Collection, of which 54 songs were selected in Leshan Folk Songs Collection published by 1984, and 15 was selected in Sichuan
