Yunjin is a traditional jacquard silk fabric in Nanjing, ranking first among the "three famous brocade" in ancient times and one of the first national intangible cultural heritages. The weaving process of brocade is very complicated, so far it can't be replaced by machines. It must be knitted by two people by hand, and it can only be woven about five centimeters a day, so it has the reputation of "inch by inch".
Yunjin is named for its bright color and beauty like clouds in the sky. It has exquisite materials, exquisite weaving, exquisite patterns, gorgeous brocade patterns and elegant style. It is developed on the basis of inheriting the excellent tradition of brocade in past dynasties, and it combines the valuable experience of other silk weaving techniques, reaching the peak of silk weaving technology, and is known as the "crown of brocade", representing the highest achievement of China silk weaving technology and concentrating the essence of China silk weaving technology.
The origin of Yunjin's name
The word "Jin" in Yunjin is a combination of "Jin" and "Si". Hard work is heavy, and its price is like gold. Therefore, only respectable people can be served. "That is to say, brocade is a kind of luxurious and precious silk, which can only be used by dignitaries in ancient times. Zhao Ming Zhenyuan's "Sacrifice to Yuan (Son)": "All adults call it:' The planning department laments the skillful woman's cooking, and the temple admires the empty group's care. The first mountain has no promise, and there are many wild clouds. " "
"Jiangnan is good, the loom is better than nature, the peacock's makeup is rotten, and ice silkworm spits chicken and fog, which is a new kind of little dragon." It's a poem by Wu Meicun, a poet in Qing Dynasty, praising Yunjin (Yunjin in the poem doesn't refer to a piece of cloth, so it's not a noun).
