·Sudden realization of Bodhi
?
"The Buddha Speaks of Amitabha Sutra" says: I have made vows and have been reborn; I have made vows now and I will be reborn; when I make vows, I will be reborn. Phew, if there are people who have made the vow, made the vow now, and will make the vow to be born in the land of Amitabha Buddha, all of them will attain Anuttarasamyaksambodhi without turning back. In that land, if they have been born, if they are born now, If you are alive). Does the Amitabha Sutra say, "Those who have made the vow will be reborn after ten years of chanting the Buddha's name, eight years of worshiping the Buddha, and three years of worship and repentance? Those who have made the vow today will be reborn after three years of worship and repentance, ten years of doing good deeds, and five years of refraining from evil deeds." After three years of reciting mantras, four years of sitting in meditation, and five years of going to the mountains, when, when, when should I pass away?" Is there such a saying? Make a wish to be reborn: "Vote" means achievement; "Vote" has a principle above and a heart below, which is the original heart; seeing our original true heart with the heart of this ordinary person is "rebirth"; "the original heart" ” Is it true that all dharmas are “one thought of mine”?
There is a sentence in the "Amitabha Sutra" "at the end of one's life". Many people believe that a person must die before he can become a Buddha. Buddhas and Bodhisattvas do not have such a view. All the classics talk about becoming a Buddha while alive and dying while alive. When dying: "Lin" means "interaction with the Tao"; "end" means "completeness". How to achieve consummation? With my current ordinary mind, I have seen my original true mind. This is "Amitabha", which is our false destiny of life and death. It intersects and integrates with the wisdom and life of the immortal Dharma body, which is called "the end of life". We say, "After three months of construction, this lecture hall has finally come to an end." Can you say, "After three months of construction, this lecture hall has finally come to an end"?
"Amitabha Sutra" also says: When you eat, you return to your own country. To use the metaphor of eating, if I eat sweets, my mouth will be sweet; if I eat spicy food, my mouth will be spicy; if I eat salty food, my mouth will be salty; if I eat stinky tofu, my mouth will be smelly. Metaphorically, this heart understands Amitabha, and I am Amitabha. This is called "returning to the homeland." The Amitabha Sutra has been said to be the "secret essence of the Lotus" since ancient times and is the most difficult to understand. Have you tasted the flavor of the "Secret Essence of the Lotus"?
The full name of "Lotus Sutra" is "Mahayana Lotus Sutra", which is the title of the metaphor. Wonderful Dharma is Dharma, and lotus flower is metaphor. They were named by Shakya Tathagata Chrysostom himself. "Lotus Sutra: Parable No. 3" says: This Mahayana sutra, called "Lotus of Wonderful Dharma", teaches the Bodhisattva Dharma and is protected by the Buddha. Why does this wonderful method use lotus flowers as a metaphor?
As we all know, some plants in the world bloom first and then bear fruit, some bear fruit first and then bloom and then bear fruit, some bloom but not bear fruit, some do not bloom and bear fruit; some have only one flower. One fruit, some flowers have many fruits. But the lotus flower is different. It has many flowers and seeds at the same time, and when it blooms, it will produce seeds at the same time, so it is called the blooming lotus. If there are many flowers blooming and bearing a fruit, it means that Hinayana people have practiced immeasurable ascetic practices to achieve a small fruition status; if there are only flowers blooming but no fruit, it means practicing useless ascetic practices of heretics, etc. Only the lotus flower, which is the flower and the fruit, means that Yuandun Dafa can reach heaven in one step without any experience of practice. At the same time, the lotus flower emerges from the mud and remains unstained, which is a metaphor for Mahayana Buddhism to enter the world and practice, and to achieve Bodhi despite troubles.
” principle, without leaving the lecture hall or the bench, you can achieve instant success—becoming an Arhat, a Pratyekabuddha, a Bodhisattva on the tenth level, or a Bodhisattva of equal enlightenment. Buddha taught us this standard answer over and over again.
"The Lotus Sutra of Wonderful Dharma - Master's Grade 10" says that the Buddha told the King of Medicine: After the Tathagata has passed away, if anyone hears even one verse of the Lotus Sutra and rejoices with a single thought, I will also teach it to him. Anuttara Samyak Sambodhi. Read a sentence from the Lotus Sutra, which may be ten characters long or four characters short. What is joy at a single thought? To understand that all the laws in the world are manifested by one person and one thought is to understand the principle of "one mind and three treasures" and receive the prophecy of the Buddha. The smaller one is the Bodhisattva status, the larger one is the Perfect Buddha; the Bodhisattva status belongs to the Buddha that is divided into true beings. Note that it is also called the Buddha that is divided into realizations. Partially attains the realm of Buddha. If Buddha is 100 points, then the Buddha is from 60 points to 99.9999... points, all are counted.
"Lotus Sutra: Differentiation of Merits and Virtues No. 17" says, Ajita, if a good man or woman hears my talk about long life and believes deeply in it, then they will see that the Buddha is always there. On Mount Jue, the great Bodhisattva and various voice-hearers gathered around and preached the Dharma. To understand the principles of the Lotus Sutra is to see the Buddha. It doesn’t mean that if you go to Wutai Mountain and see a cloud in the sky showing the image of Amitabha Buddha, you will come back with snot and tears and say, “Master, I saw a Buddha...” That may not be a Buddha, it may be a ghost! When you understand the principles of Tathagatagarbha, are you a Buddha? (Audience: Yes) That is really a Buddha! I understand the truth of Tathagatagarbha. If a pile of smelly dog ??shit appears in the sky, is it a Buddha? (Audience: Yes) They are all Buddhas! If you understand the teachings of Tathagatagarbha, you will be a Buddha even if you are not a Buddha; if you do not understand the principles of Tathagatagarbha, you will be a Buddha but not a Buddha, and you will not be a Buddha even if you are not a Buddha.
Do you understand? (Answer: I understand)
Let’s look at the chapter 28 of the Lotus Sutra: Puxian Bodhisattva’s Encouragement. Samantabhadra, if you accept it, uphold it, read it, recite it, remember it correctly, and practice it, The person who wrote the Lotus Sutra should know that this person is the one who saw Sakyamuni Buddha, as if he heard this sutra from the Buddha's mouth. You should know that this person is the person and make offerings to the Buddha Sakyamuni. You should know that this person is praised by the Buddha for his goodness. You should know that this person is the one whom the Buddha praised. This person is rubbing his head with the hands of Sakyamuni Buddha; you should know that this person is covered by Sakyamuni Buddha's robes. I still emphasize that those who understand the Lotus Sutra have seen Sakyamuni Buddha! Whether you read it yourself or listen to it from anyone, even if you listen to it from a ghost, as long as you understand it, it is equivalent to "hearing this sutra from the mouth of the Buddha." Isn't it like the Buddha himself preaching the sutra to you? Same? You should know that this person made offerings to Sakyamuni Buddha, and the Buddha rubbed his head and wrapped him in clothes as if he were a treasure. Therefore, as soon as you "hear" it, you will make offerings to the Buddhas. Let's see if you understand.
Everyone also knows that the eight-year-old dragon girl is not a Buddha in her true form, but a perfect Buddha. It is said in "Lotus Sutra: Devadatta Chapter 12" that she listened to Manjushri Bodhisattva preaching the "Lotus Sutra" once and realized the perfect Buddha at that moment. The other shrimps, soldiers, crabs, generals, dragons, dragons and grandsons in the sea have become immeasurable great Bodhisattvas, following Manjushri Bodhisattva to the Dharma Flower Festival, right?
Let’s look at the "Surangama Sutra" again: Determining to become a Buddha is like letting dust fly in the wind. How difficult and dangerous is it? Borrowing means relying on and relying on. Lao Lao is very hard work. Kenqi, from "Zhuangzi: The Master of Health Preservation". The flesh between the bones is called Ken, and the knot of muscles and muscles is called Ji. Being willing to cultivate and cultivate means to practice diligently and courageously. In other words, it is very easy for us to become a Buddha! Like the strong wind blowing little dust! Where can I rely on you to cultivate seriously? Where can I rely on you to practice hard? All you need to do is bring two ears. As long as you understand the One Mind Tripitaka, you will be the Buddha! The Lotus Sutra and the Surangama Sutra talk about reaching heaven in one step! No stairs! No practice, no certificate! All Buddhas and Bodhisattvas say this! This is how the Buddha accomplished sentient beings when he was still in the physical body. He did not need to leave the lecture hall, he accomplished it immediately! We have been teaching the Bible for more than ten years and it has been the same.
On the last page of the Surangama Sutra: The words of the Buddhas Tathagata are not false. If there is another person who possesses the four levels of the Ten Paradis, he will pass through the Abi Hell in this and other directions in an instant, and even the ten directions will be endless without any experience. If you can teach this method with a single thought and teach it to those who have not yet learned it in the final tribulation, then the obstacles of people's sins should be eliminated with just one thought. Change the causes of suffering in hell and become a country of peace and happiness.
This is an ancient passage. Some people say that the Lotus Sutra and the Surangama Sutra are the Dharma taught by the great Bodhisattva! Let's see who this person is? A person who commits the four sins and the ten parasitic sins, is he a person of great ability? The ten rajas are killing Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, and Arhats, not to mention killing pigs and sheep. He commits all kinds of evil. Is there anyone in the ten directions and three lifetimes who is worse than this person? If you haven’t cultivated for a day and have no basic skills, you will not only be the worst, but you will go to hell with only one breath left. “In an instant, you will pass through the Avici Hell of this place and the other side.” You will not only go to this hell but also to other hells. , because he is so bad. Even if he exhausts all the endless hells in the ten directions, Mibu has experienced: all the endless hells in the Buddha lands of the ten directions, there is not a single one that he has not experienced, because he is too bad. Such a person "can master this method with just one thought" - when he was about to die, he suddenly understood Shurangama's concentration, right? This passage of scripture is rather vague, so we can give a rough explanation. Not only did he understand this principle, but he also determined to teach it to practitioners in the last days. At this time, "this is the obstacle of human sin, which should be eliminated." After he understood this truth, all his sins were immediately wiped out. After he understood this truth, did he go to the Buddha and pray three times and recite it three times? Did he? No! Not a word. Change the causes of suffering in hell and become a land of peace and happiness: you will go to hell immediately, but in the blink of an eye you will be in the Buddhaland.
Among the one thousand, two hundred and fifty Arhats, five bhikkhus like Chen heard the Buddha preach the Four Noble Truths, and immediately their Dharma Eyes became pure. Then he decided to become a monk, and from then on, the Three Jewels of Buddhism, Dharma, and Sangha appeared in the world. Shariputra and Moggallana, as soon as they saw the face of the Buddha, they realized the four fruits with just a few words. Have they taken the three refuges? Have you taken the five precepts? No.
Whether it is Dafa or small Dharma, you must be careful and understand the truth of life and death. And Dafa is always supreme because it has no leakage. This method is so simple, and the Buddha said that it is easy to achieve, but we just don’t believe it, and even misunderstand, attack, and slander it. Isn’t it a pity? I have never given prophecies to anyone, I just tell everyone the Buddha's golden words to confirm myself. The last sentence of "Lotus Sutra: Second Convenient Product": Know that you are a Buddha. You yourself should know whether you have become a Buddha, right? Later, Shariputra and other five or six batches of disciples confessed to the Buddha that they had given a prophecy to themselves first, and then the Buddha confirmed it to them, and then conferred the prophecy of perfect Buddhahood, right? It was Shariputra himself who first understood and attained it. If Shariputra and the others had not understood it, would the Buddha have given him a prophecy? In other words, regardless of whether there is a prophecy or not, as long as you understand this principle, you will achieve success, right?
Becoming a Buddha is not achieved through cultivation, why not through cultivation? All living beings are originally Buddhas. A mirror is covered with dust and no light can be seen. After wiping it dry with a towel, it becomes a bright mirror. Before it is wiped, is it still a bright mirror? Isn’t the brightness of the mirror originally sufficient? Although it is not possible to become a Buddha through cultivation, it is not possible without cultivation. If you don't listen to the sutras and don't understand them, you won't be able to gain liberation and benefit from them. Just like a mirror, it won't work if it's not wiped.
At the same time, after understanding the truth and forming the true Buddha, you still need to learn countless Dharma doors after enlightenment in order to become the Great Perfect Buddha.
There is a saying in Zen Buddhism, "Two people drink from a glass of water." Think about it, can two people drink together? If you say that two birds or two chickens drink from a glass of water, it makes sense. The birds have pointed beaks. Humans can't, right? So what kind of "two people" are these "two people"? One is the dummy sitting here listening to the lecture, and the other is the seventh consciousness. The seventh consciousness is nine times the wisdom of the previous six consciousnesses. It never sleeps or dies. Whether you understand it or not, he already understands it. I often say that if you don’t understand it, it’s false, but if you understand it, it’s true.
Do you want to meet the "real person" inside? If you really want to, I'll introduce you to you. Don't go all day long without knowing who your real person is. Sometimes we talk nonsense and say something wonderful or terrible, right? After saying something bad, I want to slap my mouth or bite my tongue. Why? It will offend people.
Note that the mind that starts to regret and want to slap the mouth is the six conscious minds in front of it: eyes, ears, nose, tongue, body, and mind. And the mind that talks freely is our seventh consciousness, which is often called the subconscious mind. It can be conveniently said to be sincere. In fact, it is the "sincerity" of "half-truth and half-falseness", the "sincerity" of "truth appearing delusion" or "truth showing delusion". It can also be said to be the "harmony of truth and falsehood" with the eighth consciousness. The ninth consciousness is also empty Tathagata Hidden, so it can be said to be true mind, and it is relatively true mind. The tenth consciousness is the true heart! As the Buddha said, it is "truly true as nature" and "truly supreme meaning among supreme meanings."
For another example, if we accidentally fall over and there is a big rock in front of us, would you like to say something official at this time: "We have fallen over hard and there is a big rock in front of us. Don't hold it with your hands." My head, my head is broken and bleeding, what are you doing with your hands, why don’t you give me a quick hug?" - Then pick up your head with both hands, is this going to happen? Not at all, without even thinking about it, I hugged him immediately without realizing it, right? This is also our seventh consciousness at work.
During the bardo period, the shell of ignorance, the physical body, is destroyed, and the six consciousnesses no longer exist. At this time, the seventh consciousness is the master, do you understand? The merits gained by listening to sutras and Dharma while alive are now present. In fact, there is no need to go to the bardo period, he has already achieved it now. This is called concealing the truth. The heaven that hides the six kinds of consciousness, crossing the sea of ??life and death to reach the Buddha land, this is called "the trace of the secretization of all worship" (from the "Miaofa Lotus Sutra: Hong Chuan Preface" by Daoxuan Lawyer), it has secretly transformed this of ours The mind transforms into Buddha land and into Bodhisattva, so this method is the most wonderful. The sentient beings who listened to the Buddha preaching the Dharma on the spot did not know that they were now becoming Dharmakaya Bodhisattvas. The Buddha directly announced how many sentient beings had attained which fruition. And today we can rely on it as a basis to achieve liberation. ?
If we listen to the sutras and the Dharma, truly understand it clearly, without any experience of practice, and achieve "the real Buddha" immediately, we can guarantee that we will not fall into the six paths of reincarnation, and may even reach the level of bodhisattva, etc. on the earth. Enlightenment Bodhisattva. After all, it is extremely rare for someone like Dragon Girl to achieve perfect Buddhahood immediately. Therefore, after you understand the truth, you must practice the Six Perfections and Ten Thousand Practices extensively. Okay, after this teaching, the above 18 fellow practitioners, if you think you have achieved success now, please raise your hands (10 people raised their hands).
Okay, the Dharma Assembly is now complete.
