When was this temple built? There is no specific conclusion at present. Some people say that during the Tang Dynasty, Silla monks hid here to practice, so they left the temple. In the Song Dynasty, a monk once wrote a poem about this temple, which shows that this temple existed in the Song Dynasty. However, during the Xianfeng period of the Qing Dynasty, the temple was damaged because of the war, and was later rebuilt during the Guangxu period.
Because the temple is in the mountains, there is a lot of humid gas, which makes the floor and pillars of the temple rot. At that time, in order to maintain the original appearance of the temple, it was built in 1980, but the conditions were not very good at that time and the construction was very difficult. At that time, people could only use the most primitive method to transport more than 600 tons of materials to the top of Tiantai Mountain bit by bit, which is conceivable.
In fact, Jiuhua Mountain is amazing. At that time, many monks practiced in this place. Later, after they died, the bodies of these monks were still intact, and now they are all enshrined in the main hall, which can be said to be very magical.
