The ancient poem describing autumn in the first volume of the third grade is as follows:
1. "What I See in the Night Book"
Author: Ye Shaoweng of the Song Dynasty.
Original text:
The swaying Wu leaves send out the cold sound, and the autumn wind on the river stirs up the guest sentiment.
I know that there are children picking and knitting, and a light falls on the fence late at night.
Translation:
The rustling autumn wind blows the Wuye leaves, sending bursts of chill. Travelers who are traveling abroad can’t help but miss their hometown.
Suddenly I saw lights under the fence in the distance, thinking it was children catching crickets.
2. "Night Mooring at Maple Bridge"
Author: Zhang Ji of the Tang Dynasty.
Original text:
The moon is setting, the crows are crying, the sky is full of frost, the river maple is fishing and the fire is facing melancholy.
At Hanshan Temple outside Gusu City, the bell rang at midnight to reach the passenger ship.
Translation:
The moon has set, the crows are crows and the sky is filled with cold air, and I sleep sadly in front of the maple trees and fishing fires by the river.
In the lonely and quiet Hanshan Ancient Temple outside Suzhou City, the sound of ringing bells in the middle of the night reached the passenger ship.
3. "Mountain Journey"
Author: Du Mu of the Tang Dynasty.
Original text:
Far up the Hanshan Mountain, the stone path is slanted, and there are people living in the white clouds.
I park my car and sit in the maple forest at night, the leaves are as red as the flowers in February due to frost.
Translation:
The winding stone path stretches far to the top of the mountain in late autumn, and there are several families faintly visible in the place where the white clouds rise.
I stopped the carriage because I love the evening view of the maple forest in late autumn. The bright red of the maple leaves stained by frost is better than the spring flowers in February.
4. "Chile Song"
Author: Anonymous (Folk Song of the Northern Dynasties).
Original text:
Chilechuan, at the foot of Yinshan Mountain.
The sky is like a dome, covering the four fields.
The sky is clear, the fields are vast, and cattle and sheep are visible in the windblown grass.
Translation:
On the plains of Chilechuan, under the tall Yinshan Mountains,
The sky is like a huge yurt, covering the vastness in all directions of wilderness.
The sky is blue and the earth is vast.
The wind blows and the grass lowers its head, suddenly revealing groups of fat cattle and sheep.
5. "Autumn Evening"
Author: Du Mu of the Tang Dynasty.
Original text:
The cold autumn light of silver candles paints the screen, and the small light fan flutters at the flowing fireflies.
The night sky is as cool as water, and I sit and watch Altair and Vega.
Translation:
On the autumn night, the candlelight illuminates the painting screen, holding a small fan in hand to beat the fireflies.
The stone steps are as cool as cold water at night, and you can sit quietly in the palace and gaze at the Cowherd and Vega.
