Brief Analysis
“There are flowers flying everywhere in the spring city, and the east wind of cold food keeps the willows from slanting.” This is a famous sentence written by Han Hong, a poet of the Tang Dynasty, about the beautiful scene of the Cold Food Festival in Beijing. During the Tang and Song dynasties, the Qingming and Cold Food periods were good days for play and banquets, so there was a poem like "Only cold food is available during festivals on earth." Zhang Zeduan's "Along the River During the Qingming Festival" also depicts the grand occasion of the Qingming Festival and Cold Food period in Bianjing, which is proof.
The first couplet describes his feelings about being demoted, "I recall the past when I saw peonies in the West, and my heart stopped when there was no color. Now in the lonely mountain city, I also like the drums and flowers in bloom." These lines of the author's poem are The best commentary. How could the strong contrast between the past and the present not arouse the poet's infinite melancholy?
The syntax of the couplet is adapted from the sentence "The old wife draws paper to make a chess game, and the child knocks the needle to make a fishing hook" in Du Fu's "Jiang Village"; The neck couplet describes two realms: "grass and trees bathing in new rain" and "Yiyi smoke in the ruins". The two couplets in the middle are specific descriptions of the cold food scenery in the mountains. They are very distinctive and the writing style is very sophisticated. Especially the neck couplet is more charming and rich in poetic language than the two sentences "The grass and trees are bathed in the new rain" and "Yiyi smoke in the ruins". The poet did not say "grass and trees", but "green"; he did not say "smoke in the ruins", but said "smoking is banned", which is both implicit and makes the image more prominent. Writing in this kind of language is called writing poetry, and knowing how to appreciate it in this way is called being able to read poetry.
The last couplet is an irony and a complaint. Although I say "Don't be melancholy" in my mouth, my heart is already "I am sad because I think about the world, and I also listen to the sound of wind and rain." You can buy wine with the money you get from writing inscriptions and epitaphs for others. Otherwise, "liquor debts are commonplace", what kind of life are you living! "Yueyou" seems to be open-minded, but in fact it is angry, and there is something hidden inside. There are so many subtexts.
