Tang Dynasty: Li Bai
Flowers in the next pot of wine, no friends, drink alone.
Raise my cup, I invite the bright moon, which brings me its shadow and makes us three people.
The moon doesn't know how to drink, but the shadow in front of it is behind.
I have to mingle with them and enjoy the happiness of spring.
The song I sing is bright and wandering, and I dance the shadow before wandering.
Wake up and be happy together, and disperse after drunkenness.
I am willing to stay with them forever and forget the harm of friendship, just like the Milky Way.
Translation:
I put a pot of wine among the flowers and poured it myself. I don't have any relatives or friends around me. Raise a glass to the sky, invite the bright moon, reflect on me, and you will become three people. The moon can't appreciate the joy of drinking, and the shadow can only follow me silently.
For the time being, with the shadow of the bright moon, spring night should take this opportunity to eat, drink and be merry. I sing poetry, the moon lingers with me, dancing and dancing, and the shadow lingers with me. Share joy with you when you are awake, and go your separate ways when you are drunk. I would like to form an eternal friendship with them, forget the harm and meet at the edge of the misty galaxy.
2. Operator, residence of Dinghuiyuan, Huangzhou
Song Dynasty: Su Shi
The curved hook moon hangs on the sparse buttonwood; In the dead of night, the water from the water clock has been dripping. Who saw you alone, Hong Ying.
At night, it suddenly becomes afraid, suddenly flies and comes back frequently, but no one always understands its infinite inner feelings. It kept wandering among the cold branches, but refused to perch on any tree, and finally landed alone on the cold shoal.
Translation:
The curved hook moon hangs on the sparse buttonwood; The night is very quiet, and the water in the clepsydra has dripped out. Who has ever seen a lonely man walking alone, like a lonely goose in the sky? Suddenly I started up and looked back, but no one knew about my resentment. Picked all the cold branches and refused to live, willing to endure loneliness and cold in the sandbar.
3. Tianjin sand in winter
Yuan Dynasty: Baipu
On a winter evening, as soon as the city gate came out, a crescent moon hung in the air and flowed slowly with the front of the snow-capped mountains.
Bamboo fence and the hut in the fence, in an obscure village, are quiet and harmonious.
Translation:
At dusk, the shrill horn sounded on the city gate for a long time. As night fell, the new moon rose and lit up half the yard. The mountain is covered with snow, and the water flows slowly in front of it. A few wisps of light smoke rose from a lonely village, with bamboo fences and huts beside the water, which filled the twilight of rotten grass.
Watching the moon in the pavilion on the night of August 15th.
Tang Dynasty: Bai Juyi
On the evening of August 15 last year, next to the apricot garden by Qujiang Pool.
On the night of August 15 this year, in front of Songpu Shatou Water Hall.
Where is the hometown in the northwest and the full moon in the southeast.
Yesterday, the wind blew and no one would meet. Tonight, the light is as clear as usual.
Translation:
On the evening of August 15 last year, I spent the festival in the apricot garden next to Qujiangchi in Beijing. However, the night of August 15 this year was spent in front of the demoted Songpu Shatou Water Hall. How can I see that my hometown is in the northwest and the moon has circled several times in the southeast? Yesterday's autumn wind blew through this bleak autumn, and tonight's clear moonlight remains the same.
5. Recite eighty-two songs and one song.
Wei and Jin Dynasties: Ruan Ji
Can't sleep at night, sit up and play the piano.
Thin curtains look at the bright moon, and the breeze blows on the chest.
Lonely in the wild, birds are singing in Beilin.
What will you see when you walk? Worry and be sad alone.
Translation:
Can't sleep at night, get up and sit and play the piano. The moonlight shines on the thin curtains, and the breeze blows my skirt. Gu Hong (swan) mourns in the wild, and birds fly and hover in Beilin. What do you see when you wander around? Just a person sad.
