Qin Mugong said: "I heard that people who eat good horse meat and don't drink will die." So I gave them drinks. All the people who killed the horse left in shame. Three years later, the State of Jin attacked Qin Mugong and surrounded Qin Mugong.
People who used to kill horses and eat meat said to each other, "It's time for us to repay Mu Gong for eating horse meat and drinking good wine." So he defeated the besieged army, and Mu Gong finally solved this difficulty, defeated the State of Jin and brought Jin back.

In the second year of Lu (607 BC), (posthumous title "Xuan", later called Zhao and Jin Zhengqing) hunted in shouyangshan (now southeast of Yongji County, Shanxi Province) and lived in Jinsang.
He saw a pale and thin man and went to ask about his illness. The man said, "I haven't eaten for three days." Zhao gave him food to eat, but he kept half.
Zixuan Zhao asked him why, and he said, "I have been away from home for three years, and I don't know if my mother is still alive. Now it's close to home, please let me give her the food I left. " Zhao told him to finish his meal and prepared a basket of rice and meat for him.
Later, (the famous bad king in the Spring and Autumn Period) wanted to kill Zhao. In the struggle, a samurai suddenly turned against others, and Zhao was able to escape.
Zhao asked him why he did this, and he replied, "I am a hungry man in Sangyuan." When Zhao asked his name and home again, he left without saying goodbye. It turned out that this sick warrior named Mo Ling was one of the famous chivalrous men in the Spring and Autumn Period.
