Wei Zhi's Ten Thoughts on remonstrating Taizong, in Wei Zhi's Ten Thoughts on remonstrating Taizong, reminds Taizong to "be prepared for danger in times of peace and refrain from extravagance and frugality" and emphasizes that to maintain the long-term stability of the country, we must practice the "Ten Commandments": abstain from greed, arrogance, surplus, leisure, ignorance, evil, false rewards, excessive punishment and large-scale construction.
